"AS good as it gets"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
i purchased it from zzsound and i am using it here in Bangladesh. my guitars sound better and it has inspired me to play more.the free headphone is a great value addition my only concern is that it is suggested to be used with ROLAND rc-120 amp for optimum performance but it should not be so as situation demands a product to be flexible as i need it to perform with various types of amps. it sounded really good through a small [peavy vypyr but i am confused about the amp control feature.
Sound
sound is very realistic, distortion is very strong and can be manipulated according to taste pretty easily.tonal possibilities is infinite. i play an ibanez RG370dx and a cheap stratocaster replica, the options for humbuckers and single coil tones is helpful.it is important to do some initial setting as in calibrating the noise suppressors and choosing the output to get the full tonal characteristic of this amazing processor.the 200 presets are simply outstanding and patches are available to suit your needs @boss website
Features
the wah pedal and the built in looper is awesome, the COSM amp modelling is a nice thing as the natural sound of the instrument comes throuh pretty nicely and you won't even have to make your own tones as pathces are availble and can be easily downloaded
Ease of Use
it is complex but if a little time is spent with it it will surely payoff, take your time with this beautiful device, go through the manual and first of all choose the output type and calibrate the noise suppressor other than that the factory setting should suffice
Quality
very sturdy indeed all the switches and interfaces are very user friendly, it is suitable for both stage and studio alike, but i would recommend to use an external foot pedal if you use the wah pedal for long stretches.the display is undoubtedly very handy as it is bright enough for any given scenario........and the E-Z tone wizard is a nice attribute as it is user friendly.
Value
definitely worth the money as all the best BOSS sounds are put into one platter, money well spent indeed as i won't be needing anymore affcts for a very long time
Manufacturer Support
haven't needed yet but the manual is really helpful but it is kinda ambiguous. download patches to suit your taste. BOSS name pronounces quality so i think it will be so in terms of after sales services.the patch list is kick ass.
The Wow Factor
it is beautiful indeed looks very professional and elegant

"If you're looking for great sounds no matter the genre of music, this is the unit. If you're looking for less complex progr"

I have experimenting with these effect processors for a number of years and I have never gotten what I was totally looking for in terms of the sounds, complexity of use, and programming. This unit is the cloest that I have gotten to what I'm looking for.
Sound
The sound quality is excellent. I got it, moved a few of the patches around to suit my need, and created a few of my own with the EZ Tone feature and I was ready to go. Giged with it as soon as I got it. Very easy to learn and program
Features
No accessories included except for a very easy to use manual. I haven't had it long enough to find any other features that I need. I plan to use in some studio sessions soon, so we'll see.
Ease of Use
Very easy to get great sounds. I have reccomended to Bass version to my Bass player. I run the pedal through a Marshall stack and get superb sound. I have several amps by different vendors and I don't forsee any compatability issues.
Quality
This unit seems to be real sturdy and well made. I also ordered the carrying bag, because some type of case very useful to carry it around. It was larger than it looked in the pics. FYI, if you get the bag; use some foam or a towel to protect the display from scratches and other damage during transport.
Value
I think the price was a little high.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had any issues thus far.
The Wow Factor
Very sleek and sexy looking product.

"Sleek, stylish, durable, and top-notch sound. A fantastic effects processor offering thousands of dollars worth of stomp boxes"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I think I'm going to have this multi-effects processor for a very long time. I feel like I have hardly any use for all my other miscellaneous pedals, and was terribly sick of tap dancing anyway.
Sound
This unit has something to offer any guitarist. The effects are top-notch, and endlessly customizable. You can get warm tubey fuzz, or bone-shatteringly crunchy metal tones with just a minute of tweaking. Adding an effect to the chain is as simple as clicking it on, or assigning it to one of the two control pedals to the right of the patch pedals. I have come up with some really cool tones, and there are a galaxy of others out on the web you can download directly into the unit with free software and a usb cable. The expression pedal is fantastic, featuring whammy, wah, volume control etc. in a very smooth and tightly calibrated package. My one major piece of advice is to think before you set this up. I originally plugged it directly into my amplifier, which had the unhappy result of making everything sound terrible because the pre-amp used in most preset patches on the GT-10 was fighting with the pre-amp on my amplifier. I was really disappointed with the sounds until I finally plugged some headphones in and everything sounded amazing. Then I realized I was an idiot and hooked it up to my amp's effects loop and it sounded as awesome as I was expecting! There is also an output setting you can adjust to match your equipment, as the GT-10 is factory setup for output to a Roland JC-120 amp, which may not be optimal for your equipment.
Features
The best feature is the sheer mind-boggling variety of features! So many different effects in endless combinations. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling! A close second however, is how accessible editing patches and individual effects has been made on this unit. I've had an old Boss ME-30 multi-fx for many years, and this is WAAAY easier to use. The different display options allow you to make basic edits as simply as twisting a knob, or you can switch to list view and fine tune every last technical detail. Want to quickly adjust the delay? Tap the delay button, turn the knob to your desired setting, and double click "write." Done and done. Awesome.
Ease of Use
I think this unit is still very easy to use, a massive improvement over it's predecessors. As I mentioned above, it is possible to get very, very technical with your adjustments if you want, but it's hardly necessary. If you are looking to make quick edits, its a simple, intuitive interface. Even better, if you're terrified of wading through menus or simply don't know where to start, the GT-10 has an "EZ-Tone" feature which basically leads you through a wizard to help you dial in the tone you're looking for. It's pretty neat.
Quality
The case is solid metal, and all the pedals feel very substantial. I believe it can take a LOT of punishment without complaint. The most likely thing to break would be the LCD display, but it is not placed anywhere in stomping territory! Seriously, it's a heavy duty unit, and seems just rock-solid.
Value
I think this is a fantastic value. There are scores of classic effects and amplifiers lovingly modeled and packed into this beast. You'd spend a fortune trying to acquire them all yourself. (Many have tried, few have paying gigs, or sufficient room in their houses!). I honestly believe this unit is cutout for professional musicians, and while 500 may seem like a lot, (to my broke ass at least), I would be utterly surprised if I need to buy any other effect pedal for a very, very long time.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to deal with boss technical support, and I own piles of their pedals. The only defect I've ever encountered was the AC adapter jack on my old ME-30 started to fail after 12 years. Don't expect I'll be needing their help any time soon!
The Wow Factor
It's stylish, sleek, and built like a bloody tank. I love the way it looks and the ability to have so many patches and options right at your...uh...toe-tips? Honestly, I was drawn to this unit at first sight before I ever got around to reading the reviews. It's purdy.

Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
I mostly use this with a G&L Legacy into a Mesa DC5 head. The effects sound great. My only complaint is that the effect loop on the GT 10 does not work with a parallel effects loop. When I use it with my Mesa, and engage the send/ return it creates a high pitched squeal. Otherwise, I just run it into the clean channel and it sounds fine.
Features
More than you could ever want. The built in Looper is a great touch.
Ease of Use
Read the manual and you'll get it.

"Endless possibilities, great tones, and awesome look!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I won't need a processor for as long as I can tell. I am just in the process of getting rid of my old amp with a smaller, better one to get a greater tone from it! All of my friends envy me for having it too. Just take my advice, I can get good sounds from a bad amp, and I get AMAZING tones from headphones, so if you are comfortable with your amp get this! It sounds amazing!
Sound
I don't have much experience with processors but the sound this thing can put out is amazing!! A word of warning though, if you have a bad amp as I do, don't expect it to make it sound great. I use headphones most of the time because tweaking the sound from both this and my amp to get a good tone takes too long. I played with a smaller and a bit better amp and it did sound better.
Features
I still haven't got to use everything. I've been venturing around the effects for over a week and still find new ones!!
Ease of Use
I've never used a floorboard and I make my way to creating things. Plus the EZ Tone option is a good way to start!! If you're scared of a lot of options, go for the Boss ME-70
Quality
As I said before; I may not have the widest range of experience using floorboards, but this thing IS one of the best on the market.
Value
Seeing as it's one of the top, most advanced processor.. it's value is pretty good! I did a price match with zZounds and was able to get it for a better price!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with them. I guarantee I won't need to.
The Wow Factor

"Infinite tonal possibilities!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I will hang onto this pedal for a long time, if it were lost or stolen I would definitely replace it! I think it is going to take some time before I outgrow this if ever!
Sound
Overall the sounds quality is excellent, one should not expect that the preset factory patches are going to sound killer with their set-up. The stock patches are meant to be a starting point and a relative example of a tonal possibility, if you want all the work done for you this device is not for you. I started with some of the stock patches and made some adjustments and found some phenomenal tones. The amp and cabinet models were equally as impressive.
Features
The feature set on this device is incredible, not for the timid though, you have to be willing to dig in and read the manual, spend some time with it! Wold have been great to have had some included editing software but you can find it free on line!
Ease of Use
I have read other reviews that claim this is a difficult device to learn etc. I didn't have that problem, I read the manual and checked out a few tutorials on line and have been in tweakers heaven ever since...The depth of the details is what makes this brilliant!
Quality
This is a top notch piece of gear that I am proud to own! The fit and finish are flawless, all the knobs and dials are smooth and noise free.
Value
I f you consider the total number of effects on board etc then you already know this is an exceptionally good value!
Manufacturer Support
Boss Service is awesome, although I have not needed them for this device I needed them for a used piece of gear I bought and they went out of their way to get me what I needed and answer all my questions.
The Wow Factor
I wanted this piece of gear from the moment I heard one live for the first time. It looked impressive just sitting there all lit up and the tone was mind blowing!

"BUY ME!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Well here is an honest review from an owner of both BOSS GT-10 and Line 6 POD X3 Pro. HANDS DOWN the sound of the BOSS is BETTER, WAY BETTER! The BOSS has a natural clear sound which you can feel. The line 6 sound to me is very modded UNNATURAL distorted sound especially now since the master volume disappeared from the screen and is no longer working! I took it to the shop after days of dealing with their help forum. The ONLY shop listed first REFUSED to accept and told me they don't work on their stuff any longer. Finally they took it but WARNED me that Line 6 is EXTREMELY SLOW to ship repair parts to the center and it would be weeks or longer before it will be ready! Oh well, I REALLY LOVE MY GT-10! Three years old and used daily still working as NEW!! THANK YOU BOSS!
Features
Very user friendly and so easy my grandchild can do it! Nice bright adjustable LED with adjustable lettering menus! It is made of metal and QUALITY parts throughout! After well over THREE YEARS it is working as new and looks as new also!
Ease of Use
As stated above so easy a kid can do it. AWESOME DESIGN with everything in the perfect place.
Quality
It works as new and I have had it for over three years!
Value
I am thinking of buying another one to have for my other room.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed so they are the BEST!
The Wow Factor

Forever
Sound
This Pedal Is Awesome.But...If you buy this pedal ,plan to buy the JC 120 Jazz Chorus amp You will have to set the pedals output either to the Jc 120 front or Jc 120 Return and plug both left and right outputs of the pedal into both sides of that amp and set the amp to + 40db and set the amp to parallel speakers or this pedal does not work right.after these things are done you will not need any of the effects of the amp turn all of them off and high to 3 or 4 mid to 4 and bass to 3/4 turn both sides and both volumes to 1/4 way.Program your four favorite preset settings to the same user bank. Now adjust your volumes with a PDB meter on your user bank a cheap 1 works. Now adjust your guitars pickups while strumming a power chord and now mabe it wont take you a year to figure out how to use your new rig for a gig like it took me ,good luck.
Features
A power adapter
Ease of Use
Veay Easy Not Easy To use them all together.
Quality

"kick ASS"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
i would kill someone who even just used it without my permission so this thing is the best for me and all i need!
Sound
the gt 10 obviously takes some getting used to if you don't know how to mix all the sounds and effects together but other than that it is a lot better then the previous models tone.it gets all types of sounds down to the core from some blues to some hard core metal(yet i also believe the amp has a lot to do with your sound quality.
Features
ill do this in one sentence- it has everything!!!!!
Ease of Use
well when you buy anything as detailed as this your going to have to spend some time with it and get used to the curves of it. but when your done with that it becomes like a second nature. but one of the great things in the gt 10 is the back light which helps loads in live gigs.
Quality
this thing seems pretty tough but there is a problem with mine because one edge is bigger then the other which is odd but it doesn't bother me to much. otherwise the quality of sound is a 10.
Value
i think if you play more than 2 or 3 styles of music it is definitely worth it otherwise i would stick to some old fashions pedals (keep it simple)
The Wow Factor
its a pedal so i really have seen any cool looking pedals so i have no idea but it has a shiny element to it?

Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I have owned many analog pedals & never really liked the digital sound much. At first I felt that I made a mistake when I purchased this pedal but soon realized that its pretty simple to use & the sounds quality is awsome. I'm not a preset kind of guy so with a little bit of reading I found out how to tweak the pedal to my standards. Overall this pedal can give me all that I need & I see little use in buying any more pedals. I have yet to use all of the features that this pedal has to offer but everything will come in time. Overall I find the Boss GT 10 to be a good investment for anyone who want more options with less moving parts to cary around.
