It is hard to begin. I guess a great place is me asking myself upon first use is. Do I really sound like this? The open, clean, airy yet firm way the Woodpecker captures sound, is music to the ears all on its own.I have not had the time to do extensive, long runs with the mic yet. However I have played with vocals, cello, violin, piano, double bass, and some cabinet capturing with a 4 and 5 string bass guitar. I bought an Art pro-mpaII and pro-vlaII to use as the backbone for the mic. I could go on for a long time about those 2 pieces, and why they are wonderful. It is all about intention of use, understanding what they were made to do best, and if they will fit in your plan.My background is high end audio and orchestra strings. I have shared enough time with the "purest' crowd to take in the perspective. I just minus that 3% increase in a number somewhere that costs un-godly amounts of money to get. No thanks. But, being exposed to that level of quality presentation, imaging, and clarity tuned my ear. This, to me, is a "high end microphone". If you want something that captures a natural, full embodied sound, then this is for you. I can't give enough praise for Blue. Even the Yeti-Pro I have sounds amazing for what it is XLR powered with the Art gear. Great ambient fill mic.Would I buy another one? Yes, so I will have a stereo pair. The Woodpecker rocks. Thank you Zzounds and thanks to Blue!Note: the only reason I gave 4 stars for the Features, and this is personal, is I dislike gold. I wish there was a different color option besides gold.
