I like this amp in fact, this is my second one from zZounds because my daughter stopped by one day and thought she'd like it for live streaming and recording. I don't think I'll ever see it again so I bought another. For me it's a great sounding practice amp and no matter what you're playing through, you need to be using good instrument cables...just saying.

I first purchased the ID core V4 10. Mainly used it for recording and my one man jam gig. Love the sounds and ease of use. I purchased the 40 because the 10 although it sounds great, wasn’t loud enough on the clean setting. The 40 is perfect, you can hear the difference with the larger 6.5 speakers and the stereo separation fills the room very well. I also have the Blackstar 50R. It take pedals really well and is loud enough for small gigs. I’m 62 , and the days of carrying around a twin reverb have long passed. My only complaint is I can’t get the delay to repeat at a slower tempo. Overall, most would be impressed by Tha Blackstar lineup. HT 40 watt tube amp is on my wish list! Happy Jamming!

V1 - HissV2 - HissV3 - HissThey advertise this as being more quiet and while the amp is to a degree quit the headphone input is NOT! Hiss city. Sounds like noise on a tape deck when no audio is coming out but 10 times louder. This is the second one I've gotten and the other one had the same issue. Why is this difficult for blackstar? No other amp I've ever had hisses. Some sounded like crap sure but no hiss. Besides that the amp is fine but blackstar needs to fix the noise all together if they want to keep selling these Amps.
