This I believe has been one of the best purchases I have made. The head and cabs were delivered very quickly and were in perfect condition. I haven't had the stack for that long, but it seems that the tubes are breaking in nicely. I get great cleans and fantastic gain. Responds well to volume and control knobs on my Epi Les Paul Standard Pro.

"Great bang for the buck!"

First off, this is one of the few amps that includes the foot switch. Awesome. Now, the amp itself. It feels solidly built. Has pretty good cleans. It gets loud fast and has incredible breakup. If you're new to tube amps, the way they're rated is how much power they can push before distortion. In the HT-5s case, that's 5 watts, the actual power output though is 40 watts. This amp will shake your house. It responds well to adjustments on the guitar. IE turning the guitar up really adds a driven effect. The gain channel is great for slight fuzz, 90s alternative, grunge, older hard rock and metal as you increase the gain. It won't give you djent but it will master of puppets. A super nice feature is the foot switch has a real smooth transition. It doesn't clunk, or pop, or cut out. The absolute only negative I have to say is the pre-amp tube burnt out after about 2 months. But, tubes are unpredictable. I stuck a new one in and all is well.

I absolutely love this amp. It's loud enough for my gigs and small enough for my apartment. The feature of being able to out to headphones and input mp3 make it extra convenient for practicing. Right now I run it through the clean channel only. It takes pedals very well and is very versatile. Using both cabinets was actually too much at first and I had to switch it to run through just one of them. It's great!

Great built amp stack. Dialing tones in made easy. Love the effects loop. Speaker emulator also great feature. Clean to distortion made easy by footswitch.
