"VERY PLEASED!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Overall I would purchase this product again the way I'm using it. Again, I feel the overall value can only be proven in time. I expect Behringer overall to continue to perform. I have NO regrets. Nothing gets a 10 from me. I do believe there is always room for improvment.
Sound
With the PMP-3000, I have noticed that the sound is VERY clean. No humming, buzzing, etc. I sing in a Southern Gospel Quartet to tracks most of the time & this powered mixer is doing a GREAT job. None of the members in our group are sound techs. I have some basic knowledge & with a 5 minute crash course it was easy to make this unit function with a quality sound. We are using SM-86's & Beta 87a mics for vocals. Monitors are Behringer B212XL & mains are B215XL. From the time we started unloading for the FIRST time we had it EQ'd & sounding very nice in about 40 minutes. That was with 3 out of 4 people not knowing anything about set-up. It was easy & sounds VERY good!
Features
This unit has more features than I see our present group ever needing. We will be trying to do some live recording through the system, effects are great, & voice cancelation is an option for the near future. As time goes on & we learn more about the funtions, I'm sure I will be even more impressed.
Ease of Use
It has been VERY easy to set-up & crank-up. In less than 30 minutes, our quartet can unload, set, & be singing. This is without sound people! Helps us look & sound good right away.
Quality
Only time will tell about true quality. We have only set-up about 10 times as of now, but seems to be a GREAT bang for the buck as far as quality goes. I can say sound quality is as good as I've heard for small systems. Rooms up to about 400 seats & maybe more.
Value
Right out of the box, the PMP-3000 seems to be a wonderful value.
Manufacturer Support
Not needed any so far. So is that a 1 or a 10?
The Wow Factor
"Sex appeal" or "lust" is just not words I would use in my description. I think I know what you mean. It does look good & gives a nice attractive on stage appearence.

"Best bang for the buck, hands down."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Me personally? I work in smoky bars 1-4 nights a week and sometimes some weddings. Im not going to spend 1100 for the next step up which is most likely a yamaha EMX5014C which adds 300 bucks to the bottom line. Ill take the PMP3000 thanks ;)
Sound
I hear compliments all the time on how great this board sounds. I have also heard it at another DJ's show. Its all in the mix. speakers and cables help immensely also. I use 2 Peavey PR15s, 2 Peavey PR10s and one JBL JRX118SP powered subwoofer. Even for such low end speakers as the peaveys are I still think the sound is clean and clear for the money. I do wish it cranked a bit more power than 215w @ 8ohms. id like to see more around 300@8ohms and a full 600 at 4ohms since its advertised as 2x600 watt mixer.
Features
There were no accessories with this other than a power cable. ((WHOOPIE)) The one thing this board is MAJORLY lacking is the addition of a subgroup feature for those of us who aren't incapable of running a mixing board, and know what things like PFL and AFL mean and do. By the way they stand for PRE FADER LEVELS AND AFTER FADER LEVELS. and they are used to set...dun dun dun: The correct levels for each channel. The onboard FX are great...IF you know what does what. there are 99 available but only about 30 are listed on the board and the manual tells you....a big fat nothing. Also, 1/4" and XLR outputs would have been nice to have on the back of the board, with a better way to tune in the MONO channel for people like myself with powered subs. also a Left and a Right sub output would have been gravy. The last major complaint I have is that it is not rackmountable and I cannot for the life of me find a decent case for it, so I am lugging it around and have been for over the past year in the worn and tattered box which is falling apart.
Ease of Use
If its just simple plug and play with a few guitars mics and drums, and maybe an iPod or CD player, and you have speakON connectors you should be gravy, just please pay attention to where your trims are set. if you have them turned all the way up and are using those as your main volumes, please go shoot yourself, and dont complain when you blow up the board multiple times. There is a crappy manual so i didnt give it a great score.
Quality
I have been gigging with this on a regular basis and it seems to be holding up well for me, I try my best to take care of it though as well as all of my equipment.
Value
for the buck it doesnt get any better.
Manufacturer Support
havent dealt with them thankfully :)
The Wow Factor
It looks pretty nice and people say man, thats a NICE board you're using. I feel it looks pretty professional, except to stuck up musicians who are biased with mackie or allen and heath, or something really high end. Hey, if you can afford that, BUY IT.

"A Bargain with a Behringer Label"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Good entry level. Take the power rating with a grain of salt. Good number of features. Fun!
Sound
Sound quality is good. Not much else to say.
Features
The mixer really is great value for money. I would call this an entry level mixer/amp but it is certainly not short on features. The FX processor is good, the EQ is nice for compensating for the speakers. 8 instrument/mic channels, 2 (x2) stereo inst./RCA channels, 2(x2) stereo return channels, 2 different monitor outs, 3 amp modes (discussed later). Really like the 'power amp insert' channels, good idea. Voice canceler is fun to have an on-the-fly wave flip. Missing the 'standby' (mute all channels) button apparently found in the PMP1000 and PMP3000. Random Useless Tip: If you only want to hear what is coming out of the FX processor (and you have left your headphones somewhere else), send the FX to Mon1 and set Mon1 in the amp mode.
Ease of Use
Easy to use. Not much more need be said. Assuming you have some knowledge about mixers (a la not the sort of person who thinks inserts are cool because they must mean you can plug more instruments in), you will find this thing easy to use. This is the upper end of portable. I can lug it around without problems (the handle makes this very very easy to do) but if it were any larger (think PMP5000), I would think twice before moving it. I think they found the right balance here between the lack of PMP1000 features and hugeness/heaviness of the PMP5000.
Quality
Amp modes: I read a review before I bought this that said that some channels were not pulled out of the mix when the faders were down. I did not believe this when I tried it and it seemed not to be the case but I finally discovered where it occurs. If you switch to the Mon1/Mono amp mode, bringing the Mon1 fader right down will not completely bring Mono1 out. Read: you can hear a little from all of the channels you are sending to mon1 through the speaker out. Not a huge problem but a little disappointing, especially as there is not per-out (eg: fx/mon1/mon2/main1/mono) mute button. Bridge mode does not seem any different, take that bridged power rating with a grain or two of salt. Main Out mode has, so far, been good.
Value
Very good value for all the features you get at the price.
Manufacturer Support
Neutral. Have not dealt with their support people.
The Wow Factor
Looks very cool. The coolest bit is the font of "Europower PMP3000" (look at it on the pictures) and the colouring (unlike many display pictures, the controls are actually red/orange/yellow/grey/black, not pink and blue).

"Better for recording than live sound."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
At first, I considered this thing a waste of money. It did not serve the purpose for which I bought it. However, over the year or so that I've owned it, I've learned to use it for recording. That's where this product really shines. As a pre-amp, this thing has great transparency and excellent equalization. Whether you're micing a guitar cabinet, a drumkit or vocals, this mixer provides lifelike frequency range.
Sound
pros: clear/clean response when used with good mics (sm86 & sm87 are perfect); no noise; high-quality digital effects; good e.q.; pre-amp does not "color" the sound much. cons: no headroom; no power.
Features
pros: lots of digital effects; lots of inputs/outputs; smooth faders & knobs; very useful feedback detection (shows which frequencies are feeding back so that you can easily trim them down in the e.q.) cons: underpowered; main outputs are Neutrik only
Ease of Use
This mixer was easy to learn. Despite what others have said in their reviews, I think the manual was very easy to use. I studied the manual for a couple of days and can now use all of the features. This product is user-friendly and takes the mystery out of mixing.
Quality
The build-quality is actually pretty good for such a cheap mixer. This thing is solid. Even the carrying handle is solid. You could use this thing as a last-ditch weapon at a show that got out of hand (possibly because the audience couldn't hear the vocals in the mix). The faders and knobs are solid and have held up well. Even after more than a year, none of the faders or knobs are "scratchy".
Value
The value of this product really depends on what you intend to use it for. The wattage is grossly exaggerated and thus this thing is clearly underpowered for most live situations. You can not use it for an outdoor performance or a noisy bar full of people. I'm not sure that I would even use this for hosting an open-mic night. It really has no power to speak of. My band couldn't even use this thing for rehearsals. Even with decent mics (Shure Beta), this powered mixer could not compete with an acoustic drum kit or the Mesa Boogie half-stacks our guitarists use. Just to hear the vocals, we had to run it in bridged mode (still not enough power). These days, I use the mixer for recording as a means of processing vocals or especially recording a drum kit. This thing is no good for live performance except for maybe a street performance.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had to contact Behringer so I'm basing my rating on the user manual. It is easily understood and straight-forward.
The Wow Factor
It looks like a hardcore mixer for sure...but looks are deceiving. Your friends might think it looks cool but it will never push your vocals over the drums or guitar amps.

"Another great mixer."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great very powerful mixer. good for the money, and well featured.
Sound
this is a damn good sounding mixers, no noise from the faders either. very punchy also.
Features
Has alot more features than my Behringer PMH2000. Voice canceler, DSP, EQs, 2 monitor sends, a mono send.. this has everything.
Ease of Use
Took me a while to figure out.. but after that its not bad
Quality
The 1st one i bought didnt work. i checked the fuse and it wasnt that. i called behringer support and i was told to go to my dealer and exchange it. the 2nd one i got works fine. i love it.
Value
Bang for the buck. only thing that has the same features is a yamaha. which is in the $900 range
Manufacturer Support
I was so thrilled with their support. no automated push button systems, and no agents with foreign accents (no offense! but i cant understand some people.)
The Wow Factor
Good looking mixer, the black and silver goes well together

"GARBAGE"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall, this mixer is SEVERLY OVER-RATED power wise. It does not come close to pushing the described wattage. It would not keep up in a live setting whatsoever. I have the Behringer PMH880S, which is an 800 watt board (400 a side) and it pushes way harder than the PMP3000. I was so disappointed when I brought it home. Refer to the review "Better for Recording than live sound" because that review nails it. It has a lot of options, but no power. It is an easy board to use if you are well versed with mixers and live sound, but it has no guts. Would not recommend to anyone needing a mixer that will keep up with a band...especially in a bar.

"You get what you pay for..."

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
For occasional use this product will probably be ok. Next time though I'll use a bit more money and go for something better. Be warned, the maxim "you get what you pay for" applies to this product as with anything else.
Sound
The sound is fine. Excellent sound reproduction ( I suppose this depends on what you're hooking up, but for the mic's and DI boxes I use I'm happy)
Features
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of features. There are however 2 drawbacks: 1)It's difficult to understand what several of the features do, eg. PFL/AFL. 2) Some of the features seem pointless, or at least unnecessary. Examples - karaoke feature ("removes" the vocals from an external CD-player), "surround" is OK but you use the rest of the mixer to adjust your sound, you don't really need this. Result: to many bells and whistles, and cluttered too many knobs to search among.
Ease of Use
Straightforward enough if you know what you're doing, but see my previous comment about clutter.
Quality
Behringer make cheap plastic products and they are therefore not particularly solid in construction. However they seem to be well put together and have an attractive design. So as long as you don't throw them about they'll be ok.
Value
Behringer has one very strong selling point- price, and this product is no exception. You won't get another power mixer with this capacity for anywhere near this price. Mind you, their "capacity" claims must be taken with a pinch of salt. Their claim of 1200W is only for peak in bridged mono mode (using 1 speaker output in mono). In "normal" mode, ie. 8 ohms stereo, your RMS capacity is only 215W pr. channel. Enough for me, but maybe not the impression you get by looking at the hype on the box.
Manufacturer Support
Excuse me, but Behringer support is c**p. I sent them an online question (explain PFL/AFL in words of one syllable) I got an e-mail back saying that they'd answer my question within 24 hours. 6 days 3 complaints later I got an answer that said absolutely nothing.
The Wow Factor
Design-wise and hype-wise, this product is sexy. It might not live up to expectations in reality, but it certainly looks like the goods.

"BANG FOR THE BUCK!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I have no reason to believe that we will not be wonderfully satisfied for years to come. We may be trying to add to what we have but I see no time in the near future that we would be replacing any of it. We are very satisfied & as of now we have NO regrets!
Sound
I think this unit sounds very good. We are running the PMP3000 to push 2-B215XL's & 2-B212XL's. The sound is very crisp & clean. I would like to hear a little more bass but adding an 18" cabinet would fix that We use tracks to sing to. Our mics are SM86's & Beta 87. Since our purchase (5 months ago) we've not had a single problem & people love the sound. Effects are great. Up to about 400 seat room the power is good too.
Features
No accessories were included. Most useful features for our group seem to be the effects, RCA inputs, & just the general set-up & ease of use to make sound adjustments while unit is operating.
Ease of Use
None of our group are sound techs. With just a little "common sense" & being able to read, it was very easy to set-up & get running. Now after using for a few months, it seems even easier. With two people setting up the equipment & 4 people singing, we are 25 to 30 minutes from unloading to sound-check. It is easy & dependable.
Quality
All of the Behringer products we are using seem to be very good quality. Looks good & sounds great! Makes a bunch of rookies look like pros. We expect this product to last for a long time. We as a group do make it a point to take good care of it. Keeping dust out & making sure we are gentle as possible but we are using it as a portable unit. We set-up then break down.
Value
So far it seems to be a great value. Only time will tell. I would by Behringer products again without thinking twice. For me & the way we use it, it is proving to be a GREAT bag for the buck!
Manufacturer Support
We have not needed support. So would you say that is a 10?
The Wow Factor
I just have a hard time saying that my sound equipment has "sex appeal". If good looks of equipment, great sound, & ease of use is "sex appeal", then the PMP3000 along with the B212XL & B215XL has GOT IT!

Behringer PMP3000 Mixer Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Im very satisfied.
Sound
I don't have much to compare it to. I bought it to use as a home theater/music/karaoke system for home use, get together and family parties. I have never been a fan of 5 speakers. a nice 2.1 system is perfect for my taste. i do no use it for DJing, live music, gigging. given that, it sound better than the 1980's Natural Sound Yamaha HT receiver it replaces(which was a very very good receiver back when it was made). and that is good enough for me. I hooked up my satellite receiver, dvd player and laptop, sound is great to me. is is "audiophile grade" probably not. it uses a full range class d amp which is fairly new technology. Class D amps are much cheaper to build per watt, and are more efficient than A/B amps. Some of the best subwoofer amps are class D. because of better and technology fullrange class D can sound as good as most A/B amps, which was not true 10 years ago. i have it hooked up to some Behringer B1520 Pro and BIC America 250watt powered sub.. movies sound awesome, and music bumps great. cant complain. bass bumps.
Features
all the basic features you need are there. the sound processing is fu to mess with but i usually leave it on small room or medium room. some of the effects sound great if you were trying to get some effects out of this thing. i like the options that configs that this thing is capable of. i did wish the bass preamp output had a crossover to fine tune the bass. my active sub has its own crossover so its ok. couple more watts would be fine.
Ease of Use
the manual is weak to say the least.. it is not organized well. but the thing is easy enough to use as long as you understand channels, EQ, amp settings, gain, how to read a clipping meter, and volume control. all the other stuff is basically for play.
Quality
feels like good enough quality to last. nothing is loose or flimsy. i wouldn't recommended dropping it but this is simply good advice across all electronics equipment. Knobs are plastic but have a nice weighted feel. (the yamaha mixer in this price range had much cheaper feeling turn knobs and volume lever)i think the main case is aluminum or some other type of metal. the carrying handle is solid.
Value
behringer doesn't market themselves as a lexus/bmw of Pro Audio. They make affordable equipment. Most of the quality issues ive read about have been from the 90's and early 2000. at this time they were still using 3rd parties manufactures. I think now they make most of their equipment at their own factory in a mini behringer city. quality is on the rise. price per feature, this is a great buy. it does not feel like its gonna fall apart. i'm sure u can buy better quality, but will pay the premium for it.
Manufacturer Support
do no email. took me 3 days to get Q answers. BUT.. live service is great.. i called, spoke to secretary, ask for tech, she said "would u like to leave a message" i said no, ill wait. got someone on the phone in 2 mins.. he DID NOT have an INDIAN accent and spoke perfect english. and knew his specs and answered Q's quickly and i don't think he had to check his database to use it. i called 4 different times and had great results.
The Wow Factor
works great, looks great..but its like rolling up in a new HONDA Civic. its nice, but its still not the same as sporting a BMW or Mercedes. Does mean the car is any less capable to do what it was designed to do.
