Behringer Model D Legendary Analog Synthesizer

Own a classic-style synthesizer for a reasonable price with the Behringer Model D synth module -- its vintage VCO design creates amazingly fat analog sounds.

"Behringer Model D - with some Disappointments"

It's close to a real Model D but crammed in half the real estate. Wave forms are nearly impossible to change without brushing up against the tuning knob and throwing an oscillator out of tune.My biggest gripe is the pitch bend. It is set at a whopping full octave either way. I've discovered they sent a firmware fix already and this was their idea of a solution. Sorry guys.... a perfect 5th either way would have worked fine. This may be enough for me to send it back unless Behringer responds with some positive news. Hope this helps
Sound
The sound is close to a real Moog. Filter section is not as "edgy"
Features
Most And Least Useful: Most is the price. Now for the negative: It looks like the real deal in photos, it should be called the "Micro D"A real Mini Moog measures just over 23 inches from knob to knob. How do I know this? My original Model D from 1973 is sitting right here. The "Micro D" measure 12 1/2 inches. End Result is you will need really small fingers to change the wave forms without knocking the thing out of tune - live performance is questionable unless you set it up and leave it alone. Now by Biggest Negative is the pitch bend. It is a Whopping Octave. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? You breath on your pitch bender and you've already cleared +2 which is unacceptable. They need to send a firmware update and set it at a 5th maxed out.
Value
If you want something to tinker with, this is great - or if you don't really play solo work.As a live rig - I'm on the fence about sending it back unless Behringer has something positive to say in terms of a fix.
Manufacturer Support
Have I dealt with Behringer? Not yet but I plan to send them an email about the pitch bend. It's almost a deal breaker for me. I can live with the tiny knobs millimeters apart, but the pitch bend is horrible.
