I am far from an expert on sound reproduction but I have alot of experience (years) setting up and operating PA equipment that didn't need an active crossover. I decided to convert my old fender bxr bass amp cabinet into a subwoofer. I removed the power amp but the speaker had no crossover so I was forced into contemplating using an active crossover. I did alot of reading and decided on this Behringer unit. I am good with technical information and implementing it so I felt confident I could set this up. I took my time and made sure I understood what to do with every button and knob before I ever turned the unit on. I am running it in stereo 2 way mode with the low frequency output summed. I am driving 2 PV 112 speakers as the high crossed over at about 90 hz. I am sending the crossover to 2 behringer nuke1000 amps. I use one for the PVs and the other to drive my fender sub. Sounds fantastic. The horns sound so much better. I hear things I never did. The CD horn compensation is great on the crossover. Also I am learning alot about speaker setup reading the Behringer manual that is available on line. Lots of buttons and knobs. Could be intimidating.
Sound
Amazing improvent in my PV 112 speakers. Noticeably better in high range.
Features
CD horn compensation is great. The layout of buttons and knobs makes sense.
Ease of Use
Better really be willing to learn. This device could be intimidating. I would say the layout and setup is relatively simple once you spend some time with it.
Quality
Professional device. I can't imagine you can get one better for even twice as much
Value
The best
Manufacturer Support
Their manuals are great but I haven't tried to reach them. I have lots of Behringer products. Bass amp. Power amps. Mixing board. Signal processors. Great stuff.
The Wow Factor
WOW. Lots of bells. Whistles. Lights. Knobs. Buttons. Pay attention and you'll do fine.

"For live sound, get one!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Good product which actually does the job and has great value for money. Would replace with the same one if something happened
Sound
In Live Sound setup, this baby has given me unbelievable sound. Whether I want to go 2 way or three way, my sound is clean. Do not bash this unit because you are using some cheap amp and or speakers. It delivers when you need it most
Quality
Looks good, feels good. As with all equipment, the way you look after it determines its lifespan! Put it in a shockmounted rack and know the sequence of switching on your gear.

"solid unit"

this is not a DSP-it can not compensate for sub-par amps and speakers. that being said, it is a dependable, flexible basic crossover. it cannot eq, compress, juggle, or pull a rabbit out of it's hat. it can separate lows, mids and hi's in stereo, with a very useful mono sum for the lows. i often use it in the 4-way configuration, using subs and kick-bins, mids and highs. my unit is nearly 8 years old, and has been installed in two different churches, thrown around on the road, and stored in less than ideal garages, outbuildings, etc through WV summers and winters for extended periods of time, and is working flawlessly today. more than happy with this, as well as all my Behringer equipment. Being a gear snob is an expensive habit!

"Behringer CX3400 Super-XPro Crossover"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Bought the Behringer 3400 Super-XPRO 3400 crossover last month and it brought my sound system out of the " flat " dark ages . My speakers sound cleaner. The highs are crisper, the lows are fuller and deeper. I am actually in control of the way my speakers receive the signals, ( highs , mids and lows all receive their intended signals). I should have added a crossover long ago. I would recommend this unit to a friend and to any one serious about sound quality.

"Have had two - both bothered with a constant beeping tone."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Have no complaint about the sound.
Features
Have no complaint about the features.
Quality
Very dissapointed. I have owned two. I had to replace the first because of a constant beeping tone (that varied when I turned one of the pots). Because of the low price and good value regarding features and functionality I took the chance and ordered another. But now I got a similar beeping tone on this one as well.

"Electronic glare and mush."

I am on the lookout for another crossover, that will beat a modified Audio Control Phase Coupled Activator working on 800Hz frequency, and that won't be aesy.
Sound
This crossover provides sound with electronic glare and brittleness over every part of the music, making it unusable for high quality audio playback at home.
Manufacturer Support
No experience with support.
