I needed a set of headphones that were going to work for many uses. First I needed them for my guitar. Wanted something that was going to give me as flat a response as I could get so I knew that what I was hearing was exactly what was coming out. If I played my guitar through my studio monitors, a FRFR powered monitor, headphones, PA system, etc... I wanted it to sound the same.... These fit the bill perfectly. Second I needed something to use as a gaming headset. These things blow my TurtleBeach headsets out of the water. Third I needed something to listen to music from my phone.... yeah, they do that extremely well of course. They're extremely portable how they fold, come with a few different length cables, nice pouch to put them in, etc... Only downside I can come up with is the proprietary cable connection to the headphones, making it impossible to use a cable of your own or (the problem I have) being able to add a mic to the headphones for a headset while gaming. only reason I had to give it 4 stars in the features. I do like how the cable locks in place so it doesn't accidentally get pulled out..... but I don't really see that as a bad thing. say someone were to trip over the cable... now instead of the cable being pulled out of the headphones, now you're head is being jerked, phones are being pulled from your head, or the special cable breaks.... none of which are cool.
