The adapter is used between an ipod Touch 5 and a Bose desktop sound system. The 30 ping connector plugs directly into the Bose, while the Lightning connector plugs directly into the iPod Touch 5. The only drawback is the iPod is positioned a little higher in the Bose, thus making the stability a little shaky. But, I just my thumb and finger to change whatever I want to do with on the iPod. IT WORKS!!!
