I’m a bit old school and I really like to use a 4x10 cabinet, but I’ve recently gotten much more active playing out than in recent years. I quickly learned that at my age I can’t lug the 4x10 around like I used to. I also play more at little dive bars in bigger cities now, so I run into tiny stages a lot where it’s really difficult to fit both the 4x10 and the drums on stage. As long as I’m playing a place that atleast has a roof over it, this cabinet works great and gives me what I’m looking for on stage to hear myself. At 79 pounds, moving the 4x10 is an entire problem on its own. This cabinet is so light that moving it is no issue at all, and it fits those tiny stages. Running on my darkglass m500v2, and yeah it definitely has that ampeg thing in the midrange. For a bigger outdoor gig, I’ll be using both cabinets stacked. With the extra low end from the 4x10 when running both as a stack, I just turn the horn up all the way and it works perfectly. Darkglass suite has a mesa 2x10 IR that very very closely matches this cabinet. A little eq at the console will have it indistinguishable.
