"Ampeg sound at a value price."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It's a good starting point for someone who doesn't want to dive into a $1,000 amp head. I would buy it again. I chose to buy it because I wanted value and I trust the Ampeg name. I tested Ampegs in the guitar store and was extremely pleased.
Sound
Sounds good for the cost of the unit. I use effects anyway so it doesn't matter to me how the amp itself really sounds.
Features
Pretty basic but functional.
Ease of Use
About as easy as it gets. Turn it on, play w/the low, mid, and high a bit. Has a gain and master knob.
Quality
Can't beat it in the time I've used it. Only had it about a year but have had zero problems with it.
Value
Can't beat the price. Ampeg is the standard in bass amplification. This amp does what its supposed to for the price.
Manufacturer Support
Heard the service is great but I myself haven't had to use them. I'd say its a testament to the simplicity and quality of the product.
The Wow Factor
Not very sexy. It only takes up two places in a rack mount and sounds good.

"Ampeg simplicity is still better than Behringer"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
There is no deception based on the price tag. This is simplicity with quality, and it has the Ampeg logo on the front for those of you who that matters.
Features
There is nothing to it. The most simple EQ a rackmount amp will have, but they make it sound pretty good.
Ease of Use
There is nothing to it. Again, this is a simple and decent amp.
Quality
It definitely doesn't sound the best, but if you aren't making a living playing live shows then it is outstanding. If you use pedals or effects, and a SansAmp, no one really cares anyway. Pro enough for your level of professionalism.
Value
Yeah, it's the cheapest Ampeg... but it's not like it's your first Sony, it's a little more specifically engineered than most people give it credit.
Manufacturer Support
I hear Ampeg has great support, but I've never had to use them.
The Wow Factor
If you are playing to 60 and not 6000, or are just value conscious, then this is the Amp for you, because it says Ampeg... the standard for bass amplification.
