I’d been looking at this guitar for a while and finally took the plunge. Ordered on Friday and it arrived on Sunday morning. I tuned it up and when I struck the first chord I was blown away at how great this guitar sounds. Close your eyes and you won’t know it isn’t a Martin. I have a 1997 D-35 and this guitar sounds just as good. Needed a slight tweak on the truss rod but this is normal after shipping a guitar. Allen wrench was included. Comes with a very nice padded Alvarez gig bag. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

This guitar lives up to the descriptions in all ways. I have played for many years and have never found this quality, materials, workmanship and value all in one package. the sound is fantastic and stands up to all comers and truly is a joy to play. I will recommend med gauge string personally to get the true resonance of the top and full bass response. Alvarez this is as good as you have produced in a long time. thank you.

I bought this guitar online, and was very nervous about it, however, there was no need for trepidation, guitar arrived on time and in perfect condition. The setup right out of the box was very good, action nice and low with no buzzing, the intonation right on, and the finish beautiful. All of this was nothing compared to the sound that rang out with the first E chord, crystal clear, balanced, with full lows and beautiful clear highs. The pickup system in mine is the LR Baggs HiFi under bridge transducer system, it sounds very natural, and is very feedback resistant. zZounds as always was a dream to deal with, great products with a great payment program, with no credit check, I will use zZounds for all of my future instrument purchases.

I knew this guitar would be great since I am a current Alvarez owner, but WOW!...I have a 1978 Alvarez Macon Special that I received on Christmas of that year and I am 65 now, it can still hold it's own with any of the other guitars I've owned, including Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Yamaha and Eastman, and it is getting better with age....I'll have to honestly say that my new Alvarez MD60E Herringbone is the BEST guitar I've ever owned to date...Craftsmanship is Superb and the Volume and sustain of this Dreadnaught is second to none! If you are considering a "GO TO" guitar don't hesitate to give this baby a try, You won't be disappointed.....BTW, the Polyfoam softcase is a plus, it'll protect your treasured ALVAREZ with no concerns....

the description, specs, and overview are deceptive and misleading. the neck is not solid. it is a three piece neck. headstock glued to the top of the fretboard and the heal glued to the bottom of the fretboard and body. the guitar did not come with a hard case, it comes with a soft gig bag. the strings are supposed to be d'addarrio exp coated strings yet my fingers turned black after a short time playing.
