"What a great bang for the bucks!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is the best value-for-money small mixer I've seen in a long time; I looked for something to replace my old Behringer Eurorack in my home studio & this beats it hands down.
Sound
Sound has great presence / depth in the Room throughout low- to high end sound spectrum; effects are usual Alesis quality; lines / input are very silent.
Features
Check out the specs - for the price, the features are excellent!
Quality
Looks / feels solid
Value
Great features, at a very reasonable price (Yes, it's made in Taiwan)
Manufacturer Support
n/a
The Wow Factor
Size, design, features - for a (mid-sized) home studio you really don't need more!

Alesis MultiMix 12USB Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It does the job and does it well at low cost, I tip my hat to this marval of Taiwanese engineering
Sound
The sound stright through the mix is excellent, with a high quality condenser mic this thing is at the top of it's game...however the sound through the USB cable does pick up some distortion as with almost every other USB audio device I've used and as I do cut sessions directly to my computer through this USB it can be slightly irksome to have that slight line distortion on the monitors
Features
for the price the features are fantasic, the effects are a very nice touch and hold up better than independant units I have bought
Quality
I would say very good quality, all the faders have a the right amount of resistance although the EQ knobs could have been a bit less stiff
Value
This is a really really good product for the price you pay, excellent for live performances or home studio use
The Wow Factor
Well no real need for too much sexyness here but it is very nicely laid out, looks good in any setting

"USB is not always the way to go"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
i probably wouldn't replace it, i would go with a firewire mixer or analog... not sure wat i like better yet... but in a few years i will know
Sound
The sound wasn't bad but that was only when i went straight into my sound card, the usb puts out a constant hum when i hit record, mind you i was using cool edit pro 2 instead of cubase, and im just waiting for a new computer to come in before i load cubase on so that might be the reason, but still not the greatest sound. i got a really nice warm guitar sound pluggin straight into the mixer and with a mackie 14 band eq in front of the mixer. but other than that it wasn't the greatest.
Features
i like the effects, they have quite a bit of range, i've been using different mic placements with the effects and have gotten a fairly descent result.
Ease of Use
you have to play around a fair bit to find a really good sound but when you find it's well worth the time.
Quality
i've thrown it around a fair bit and it's holding up pretty strong i've only had it for a little while but i think it should last for a couple more years.
Manufacturer Support
haven't really deal alesis at all, can't really say anything about it.
The Wow Factor
meh, i've seen sexier, basically it's like a cold turkey sandwich without lettice and a little bit to much mayo, nothin special, but you'll still eat it if your hungry.

"Not worth the money...get the non USB version and save money!"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The sound works ok through line patch...but the USB port does nothing! The money spent on the USB version is not worth it if you have a PC...not too sure about Mac's.
Value
Not worth the extra money for the USB!
Manufacturer Support
Alesis is useless. They wound up admitting the USB may have been released prematurely! It may work on some computers, but not mine!
The Wow Factor
Could have saved money w/o the USB costs.

Alesis MultiMix 12USB Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Perfect for a hobbyist like me. What I need: 1. Reasonable multi track recording. 2. Usable as live mixer to accomodate rehearsals. 3. Easy to use. 4. USB interface so as not to mess with sound cards, etc. As a PC recording interface, this thing is nearly as "plug and play" as it gets. Everything you need, aside from instruments/mics, is in the box. The Cubase software is more than sufficient and not too complicated. A great bargain for an uncomplicated pc recording set up.
Sound
Still getting acquainted with it, but it amazes me the quality of sound you can produce for so little $$$.
Features
Cubase LE works for me.
Ease of Use
Pretty intuitive for recording to Cubase via USB.
Quality
No concerns.
Value
A bargain.
The Wow Factor
Very nice.
