I know what a lot of you musicians are thinking because I thought this same thing myself, which is: how can a compact/portable drum kit possibly deliver the dynamic quality and versatility of the "big boys" eDrum Kits? Well, I'm here to confidently state that Alesis has done it! The CompactKit 7 is nothing short of amazing. Playing/using this compact kit is easy once you've given it a few tries and the 100s of sampled kits built in offers a dynamic range which is on par with larger; more expensive devices. And that it has full-functioning USB-MIDI; can be battery powered and it also has a hand-percussion button that makes the pads more sensitive and responsive to playing the kit with your hands. Heck, it even comes with drumsticks, also two foot-pedals which operate the bass drum & hi-hat. It was a "no-brainer" for me to purchase the unit; the pros far outweigh the cons and the low price is yet another positive aspect of this awesome product. Overall, the Alesis CompactKit 7 Portable Drum Kit gives a lot of "bang for your buck."
