I've been looking hard for a small, but not too small, amp. Specifically I wanted to have the otpion of an auxilliary input (iPad, drum machine, etc.) and a headphone out. I did NOT want all the modelling as I have found the volume difference between amp models to be extreme. This amp is ideal for what I wanted. It has two channels and 16 effect that I can turn off and use pedals for if I want. It sounds fantastic! It isn't a tube amp, but I'm not a tube junkie, so that doesn't matter to me. It has tube-like qualities, though...a good thick and meaty tone that cleans up well and handles overdrive without issue. I can easily use this in my basement or for a live gig. I highly recommend this amp.
Sound
I primarily play classic rock and modern country. This amp can get dirty or stay clean and handles both of those easily. I have a Piezo in my guitar, and the acoustic tones sound very nice as well.
Features
Most useful, the included footswitch, the aux input and headphone out. I don't use the built-in effect much, but leaving a little reverb on is a nice touch. The only downside for me is that the controls are on top and toward the back of the top. I want to use it while it is in a bookcase, but because of where the controls are, I have to take it out of the bookcase and put it back when done. Otherwise I can't see the controls and you can't get at the guitar an other inputs. The sound quality makes me overlook this, though.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use, except that the effects aren't listed on the amp. However I figure I will easily memorize the ones I use most.
Quality
Seems very solid and well put together.
Value
The amp costs more than others in this category, but the sound blows them away. I tried a Behringer VT30FX and an Acoustic G35FX and returned both. This feels and sounds much more solid.
Manufacturer Support
The folks at Albion have been very friendly with pre-sales advice and responded very nicely to some product suggestions. As a matter of fact, I asked a prelimary question about the effects and got an answer from Steve Grindrod, the company founder.
The Wow Factor
The sound is the wow factor.
