The MPC X SE lives up to the hype! It's hands down the best Akai beat machine. However, be careful purchasing it warehouse resealed. People are buying them, registering them to gain free access to the MPC Instrument Collection then returning then. This makes it extremely difficult for the next buyer to have access to all of the instruments. I bought a Warehouse Resealed MPC X SE from zZounds.com a week ago, I've been in contact with Akai Pro several times and still have not received full access to everything that comes with it. It's very frustrating.

Out of the box it was dead. I keep getting the same error window. MPC users on Reddit said they were familiar with this problem. All of them had to send their unit back for a new one. Hopefully the good people at zzounds will get a new one out to me asap. Until then, I’m giving a half star rating.

It's a nice-looking machine but their operating system is not working as intended. You cannot zoom in or out on the grid with shortcuts or q-links unless you roll back to much older operating systems. You can do this with touch functionality, but this is a large machine so it's not fun using it in this manner. It looks like a flagship product, but it doesn't operate like one. It's not an issue on the Live or the Mpc One cause the form factor of those machines but on the larger MPCs really think about how annoying this will be before getting one.

I have had three different MPC-X SE machines ordered from zZounds and none of them have worked!!! No option to get them from a different warehouse available!!! Very disappointing!
