I got this headphones and U couldn't be happier with the way this things are build the sound out of them is awesome I use them to record and there's no bleeding out of them when I record, I also use them to mix I am aware that this headphones are for beat making so when I mix with them I always double check the bass in my mix to make sure I am not adding to those frequencies, I give this product a 5 out 5 they really did a great job I am very happy with my purchase

"these are not studio monitors"

I purchased these headphones from Zzounds.com because i needed to replace my Sony studio monitor headphones. I plugged them in and listened to some of my tracks along with some other artists tracks. I was disappointed in the sound quality. They are muddy through the highs and midrange. These remind me of the Beats headphones from Monster. If you like bass and don't really need to hear the mids and highs accurately then these are okay for that. They are well made...built like a tank and very comfortable. These are not, however, studio monitors. They do not reproduce frequencies accurately. It seems that Akai spent more money on the packaging and box than on attention to sound quality. Too bad cuz they are definitely the most well built headphones i've tried!
