Austrian Audio mics are still made in Austria to very high standards by former employees of AKG. These CC8's really brought my drum set to life, night and day difference from my MXL's. They are also killer on acoustic guitar as a single or XY configuration. Very open and not brash or harsh in the high end. If you're looking to upgrade your current pencil condensers these will hold their own against 451's or 84's all day!
