zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Luthite body. Ergonomically shaped body. Passive pickups w/ active EQ.
Overview
Take a look at an Ibanez EDB bass. Looks expensive, doesn't it? Now pick it up. Its comfortable contours, scooped front, and radically curved back feel really expensive. Now play it. It sounds really expensive. Now take a look at the price tag. Surprise!
The debut of the Ergodyne basses 2 years ago represented a tremendous breakthrough in bass technology. Instead of wood, EDB basses are made of Luthite, a man-made material made specifically for electric string instruments. So you can have a dynamic, ergonomically shaped bass for a fraction of what you'd pay for an expensive carved body boutique bass.
On the EDB models, the Luthite body material enhances the top end while the high output humbuckers enhance the middle and bottom. The result: incredible balance and power.

"Value for money"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Can't beat it in my opinion when you consider the price
Sound
I think it would be unfair to give this bass any lower than 10 when you consider the price, however it would still in my opinion score about 8 next to any bass even American made Alembics or Spectors, very similar growl to the sound of these classics.
Features
Thin neck, which is not a preference of mine as i have big hands but would be useful for smaller handed people, personally i don't find the neck size a problem. This bass can also achieve a varied number of tones which makes it very versatile. Active electronics, special body structure.
Quality
spotless construction and finish
Value
This is in my opinion the best bass when you think of what you get for your money. I think to say to do this bass justice you would have to play it through an ampeg or Gallien rig says it all
Manufacturer Support
have not had to deal withe Ibanez yet but i've heard that they are very helpful
The Wow Factor
