This bass is awesome. I admit, I was skeptical of the Warwick Rockbass line at first, but saw nothing but great reviews. My local music shop doesn't carry Warwicks so this bass was purchased based solely on reviews and my own research and I must say it does not disappoint one bit. It has everything I look for in a bass -- excellent tone, versatility, stability, ease of use, customization, and beautiful aesthetics. I have owed 2 German made Warwicks over the past 10 years -- a Corvette Standard (bubinga body, ovangkol neck and wenge fretboard), and an older thumb, both 4 strings. I will say while this bass is not identical to those instruments, it is very close in terms of attention to detail, and quality. It looks like now these rockbasses have replaced the entry level German Warwicks and as a result they put a lot of German Warwick features into them -- Just a nut III (not the brass ones like the custom shop); 2 piece bridge (older Rockbasses did not have these); invisible fret technology, and quality MEC pickups, the same you would find on their other basses. The bass was almost perfect out of the box. Aside from tuning, I had to lower the E-string side of both pickups because the low E was coming in louder than the other strings and would catch the poles when slapping. Other than that, intonation is perfect, string spacing (which is adjustable thanks to the 2 piece bridge) was perfect and the electronics are perfectly quiet. Zzounds is incredible. I placed my order Wednesday read more after hours, it was processed Thursday morning and delivered to my door via standard Shipping (that's the free one) by Saturday before noon. The 8 pay plan was seamless and approved the very next business day. I would venture to believe it would be approved or declined on the same business day had I ordered during business hours.
