I picked up the GD93CE dreadnought and, let me tell you, this thing looks like it belongs in a museum — except you’re actually allowed to play it (and drool on it, if you’re a nervous performer). The glossy three-piece back is basically the guitar equivalent of a tuxedo, which makes me feel 30% more talented and 70% more attractive just by holding it.Sound-wise, it’s rich, booming, and clear enough that I’m pretty sure my neighbors either secretly enjoy my playing… or they’re just too scared to complain. Now, here’s the kicker: lowering the action on this beauty is hilariously easy. Takamine thoughtfully gave it split saddles with little spacers underneath. Pop those bad boys out, and boom — action lowered. It’s like guitar surgery for people who can’t even assemble IKEA furniture without tears.Plugged in, the electronics make me sound like I know what I’m doing (spoiler: I don’t). And unplugged, it’s loud enough to scare off squirrels, roommates, or anyone who said you’d “never make it with that guitar thing.”Overall, the GD93CE is the perfect mix of gorgeous looks, great sound, and user-friendly tinkering. If you want a guitar that makes you feel like a rockstar without needing a luthier degree to adjust the action, this is it.
