I expect to keep this for a long time like I said. I'm always on the lookout for new gear and this is just one that caught my eye.
Sound
The sound of this guitar is amazing. The Blackout pickups sound pretty good. Im in a metal band and it's perfect for what we do, especially with the low tunings. This is my first experience with active pickups, and I do have to say that I am liking them so far. Had to tweak the amp settings a bit for the actives, but nothing to major. I play through a Peavey 6505+ with a maxon od808 for a boost, which with this guitar sounds a bit bigger from my other guitar, which has a Dimarzio D-Activator in it. Very happy with the tone and fullness of this guitar.
Features
Everything on the ATX is awesome. The locking tuners are awesome. The 25.5 inch neck, which is absolutely needed to play in lower tunings for stability. The neck is good, I just wish it was a little thinner though. There really isn't anything not to use on this thing haha. It's pretty straight forward.
Ease of Use
Very easy and was easy to set up. Getting a good sound was easy for the most part, like I said before, just a little amp tweaking and we were good to go.
Quality
This guitar is built amazingly. The finish was flawless when I got it. I can see this one being either a backup or primary guitar for gigs. I have taken it so far to a couple… read more shows and did use it as my main axe, and have no complaint's, but a lot of compliments on the tone and the look of the guitar.
Value
Pretty good for the price. I've played guitars double the price of this and I wasn't very impressed. The ATX series is a solidly built, and very affordable metal machine.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to ask for any support.
The Wow Factor
This guitar is awesome like I said. I am definitely looking forward to buying. another ATX guitar very soon. I've had nothing but compliments about the guitar. From the look and the sound of the guitar. Nothing but compliments. This guitar is going to be used for a long time coming.
