Overview
You know you want the powered monitors and a subwoofer. So why not get the whole system in one shot and, get the connecting cables free, and save some money too? The Resolv 2.1 system includes a pair of Resolv 50A powered monitors and the Resolv SUB88 sub. The pack includes two ten foot XLR / 1/4 in. TRS balanced connecting cables and the IR remote control.
Resolv 2.1 - Studio Monitoring System
The Resolv 2.1 system consists of Resolv 50a compact monitors with 75 watts of bi-amped power and the new Resolv Sub88, 80 watt powered sub, giving you the ultimate combination of full range monitoring in a compact three-piece system.
Resolv 50a
What is the difference between a good pair of hi-fi speakers and true studio monitors? Two things. First, hi-fi home speakers exaggerate the lows (and often the highs) to create maximum "impact". This can be fun to listen to but it's seldom accurate. Studio monitors are very accurate to insure a real reproduction of what is actually being recorded. And second, monitors must be very transparent sounding. This allows you to effectively mix parts of the music like vocals, bass, and even reverb trails without each part colliding with another. Well, you have just described the sound of the new Samson Resolve Series Studio Monitors. The Resolv50A is a powered studio monitor with a 5.25 in. woofer and a 1 in. Titanium tweeter. It's bi-amp powered by 75 watts of power (50W for the lows, 25W for the highs), and A/V shielded. Features include automatic… read more standby mode, 1/4 in. TRS balanced and RCA unbalanced inputs.
Resolv Sub88
This new subwoofer feature a heavy-duty, long throw 8 in. sub driver and a clean 80 watt internal power amp with variable crossover frequency and volume. The Sub88 connects to your audio system with XLR balanced I/Os and will auto-mute the system when no signal is present. The Sub88 features an IR Remote Control for controlling system volume, sub volume, and sub mute (tops go full range).
The Resolv Sub88 is the perfect addition to any pair of Resolv powered studio monitors for accurate low end frequency reproduction and total system control. read less

For those people who don't like them or are skeptical because they are Samsons, grow up. These monitors will keep up with your Events or KRKs anyday.
Sound
I heard a couple other pairs of monitors in the same 300-400 dollar price range (Event TR5, KRK Rokit 6) and the Samson 2.1 system appealed to me more since it included a subwoofer. I have these up on some MoPads and the sound is incredible for the price. I gave it an 8 because to me the highs are not as detailed as I would like, but the low end and mid range are clean and accurate. The 8" sub that is included is also clean on the low end.
Features
Included TRS cables to run the system balanced and also a remote for the system control. I don't know what other features I would really need besides what it comes with.
Quality
The monitors are built like tanks. Heavy, and solid. Comes with 3 year warranty from Samson, pretty good IMO.
Value
For 400 bucks you cant beat what this 2.1 system has to offer. For my home studio they rock.
Manufacturer Support
