A Naturally Rich Sound
The key ingredient in Rickenbacker's storied sound has always been the 12-string design. The 360/12 guitar carries on this legacy with its combination of slotted and solid peghead designs, which enable the guitar to keep a standard headstock shape despite the 12 strings. As soon as you strum your first chord, you'll hear the added depth the extra strings provide. Single-note lines take on a chorus-type effect from being doubled.Semi-Hollow Maple Body
Beyond the haunting, melodic jangle of 12 strings, another major contributor to the guitar's tone is its semi-hollow maple body. The slight body cavity cut into the guitar's left side promotes acoustic resonance, and the bright tone when plugged in comes straight from the maple wood.Specialty Electronics for Specialized Sound
The 360/12 is equipped with Rickenbacker High Gain pickups in the bridge and neck positions. These single-coil pickups are specially designed to translate the 12-string sound for electric play. Individual tone and volume controls for each pickup allow you to further modify your sound and the master preset knob lets you set an ideal tone and come back to it on the fly.Mono and Stereo Outputs
Rounding out the unique electronics on the guitar are the two… read more outputs: one for standard mono output, and another for stereo or Rick-O-Sound to bring back the psychedelic '60s sounds that you remember -- or maybe that you don't.New Neck Trimmed for Comfort
One of the updates to the 360/12 is its newly contoured neck. Rickenbacker has trimmed down the 360/12's maple neck to 49.05 mm at the 12th fret and 41.4 mm at the nut. This makes for an easier playing experience for players with smaller hands, allowing more guitarists to take full advantage of all 12 strings.Features:

"Rickenbacker 360/12 - The Jangle Never Ends"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I am totally satisfied with my Ricky. And will be for my lifetime. It is not only a guitar to play, it is a hierloom to hand down in the family. It is an investment in the future and my son will inherit my gear.
Sound
Absolutely beautiful. As a stand alone plugged in the tones that emminate for the 360/12 os humbling. Run the 360/12 thru a GuitarPort of Line6 Pod and give it some British amp mods and a little compressor, bam, you are a jangle-master
Features
The entire 360/12 is a "feature". With the Rick-O-Sound you can stereo-ize your Ricky!
Ease of Use
This is where the fingers meet the fret. Hefty fingers probably won't enjoy playing a 360/12. The exceptionally slim neck takes some time to get used to. Especially if you are used to an acoustic 12 string. I play a pair of Guild 12's; a D212 and F212. BOth which are remarkable guitars. Switching between the Rick and the Guild's does require retasking fingers. For example, on an acoustic 12, some folks may play a straight A chord using three fingers. On a Ricky you only need two! Thats how narrow the neck is.
Quality
There is no question, Ricknebacker Guitars lead the world in manfactured guitar quality. Hands done. From electronics to the absolute pristine finish, there is no comparison. The Rickenback is built for endurance and looks. Phenomenal!
Value
No doubt about it.… read more For fear of not being able to afford another Rickenbacker, they are priced most reasonably and I my humble opinion, they could charge a whole lot more. But they don't. That's because the Rickenbacker Company has you and me in their hearts!
Manufacturer Support
If you require support which is unlikely, even John Hall the CEO of Rickenbacker *will* stop to help out if he can!
The Wow Factor
The visual appeal of the Rickenbacker is incredible. When you pop up on stage, your listenered will "ooh" and "ahhh". The Rickenbacker carrys a history unlike any other American made guitar. The first time holding a Rickenbacker is nearly orgasmic!
