Guitar combo amp.
Overview
The new Pignose G40V is a technical marvel that puts out a screaming conservatively rated 40 watts RMS through its own specially designed 10 in. speaker.
A truly pro amplifier, this little (14 x 9 x 17 in.) powerhouse features 2 - 6L6s, and 3 - 12AX7 tubes, 4 and 8 ohm output jacks, controls for volume, master volume, treble, mid, bass, and presence.
It's perfect for the bedroom, but really shines when you "open it up." It is capable of powering a 4 x 12 in. cabinet!
Pignose commissioned the world-renouned tube amp engineer and designer Dennis Kager to perfect this little monster, and it has been Field tested in clubs for 6 months to great acclaim.
The G40V is built like the time tested tube amps of the 60's, but in a tiny package, like a stealth amp. They'll laugh when you walk in with it, but they'll become true believers when they hear it crank. Best of all, it has the classic Pignose look and solid reputation
The Pignose G40V is compact, pro quality, powerful, and affordable. The ultimate combination!

Overall, this amp is a treasure, It sounds great, looks good, it SOUNDS GREAT, it has knobs, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has a plug to plug it in, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has a speaker, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has an input jack, IT SOUNDS GREAT, You get my drift......I just wish it had channel switching.
Sound
This little amp kicks butt. I have owned fender, marshall, peavey and a mish mash of other amps over the years, but to be really honest, regardless of price, this is the best sounding amp I have ever owned. It has a really meaty, warm, and responsive clean sound, and when mildly overdriven it really sounds good as well. Although it sounds awesome at lower volumes, it really shows its ability when cranked up. This amp is fully capable when playing with a full band, don't let it's small size fool you !!! I find that when dialed in a mild overdrive, I can get a full, warm , crunchy, yet repsonsive distortion that will back down to a cleaner sound by playing a bit lighter or backing off the guitar volume a bit. By the way, I primarily play a SRV strat.
Features
Feature wise... this amp dosen't provide much, but who needs a bunch of crap when it sounds this good... Really , the only thing I would like to see is channel switching capability from clean to overdrive. That would make this amp PERFECT!!!! I hope someone at pignose is listening!!!! I consider it a huge drawback to dial in a clean sound and use some crappy pedal to get… read more dirty with this amp, as it's dirty sound is sooooo perfect on it's own....I would gladly buy this amp again for twice the price if it had channel switching... PIGNOSE ARE YOU LISTENING????
Quality
The quality of this amp seems up to snuff. It seems really solid and well constructed. Only time well tell. In the future I plan to upgrade to some groove tubes cause who knows whatis in it.
Value
This amp is a steal. buy one, provided you are not playing in stadiums, and I know none of you are. I would happily pay 2-3 more for another one if it had channel switching. That could make it my main amp
