"This "BLACK PANTHER" IS DEFINATELY A QUALITY PRODUCT WITH UNIQUE SOUND FEATURES THAT IMPRESS!!"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I'm hoping that with all the T L C I give all my equipment this drum will last forever. If it falls apart prematurely I will definately be letting you know!
Sound
I was fortunate to find this drum @ a pawn shop! Brand new! It had never bee played yet! I was looking for a second snare to take on tour and had never heard of this 12'snare drum before. I played it at the store and was impressed with the overall sound of it. It's dual tensioning snare is very impressive. It allows for fast changes and different sound very quickly. My main snare is a 9X15 solid brass Premier wich produces a totally different sound. The smaller diameter makes it easy to fit in my set up and 7" deep wood/combo shell gives a good sound projection with my setup! It has a nice deep, rich sound that I can adjust it from mellow to slightly trashy easily with the dual snare strainer tensioners at each side, which I personally think is a bit of genius! I think it is a perfect addition to my 10 piece custom Premier kit. And I'm so impressed with it's sound and versatility......I think I'm going to use it WITH my main snare for concerts instead of having it for just a back-up! Thanks to whomever came up with this design drum.....I love it! Respectfully, Mark Woods
Features
Well I've already commented on the dual tensioners, which by the way makes it very easy to change tension for different sounds in a snap. But the original top head broke after only… read more 3 studio sessions! But easily fixed by changing the type and brand(sorry!) of head.
Ease of Use
The dual tensioners as I mentioned (over & over) makes this drum a valuable asset to my arsenal. It's easy to play and has good consistancy across the head surface. It's areal joy to play!
Quality
This drum is a real beauty. Not a single blemish on the like-glass finish. As far as durability........I will find out after the first part of July when it hits the road and tour with me. Dependability....I'm not anticipating any problems and I think it is a good quallity drum and I'm proud to own it, play it and it looks real classy.
Value
I looked this drum up on line before I bought it. I think it is a fair price for the value of the drum.
Manufacturer Support
No experience with thecompany. As of now I have no complaints. I am anxious to see how it holds up on tour.
The Wow Factor
Your question sounds like you are rating a Good Woman!!! I do like the look and appearance of the drum.......as far as it being a sexy babe magnet.....Not What I was Going For! I do however think my brass snare drum is romantically interested in Her! I'll definately keep them separated off the stage!!!!
