I bought these headphones a few months ago, and I wanted to take the time to "learn" them before leaving a review. My wife and I have recently welcomed a new baby, so my studio was regulated to the small, unused utility room in our house. Although I have treatment up, the room was still just too small to get an accurate mix. I've always mixed through monitors, so the idea of basically solely mixing through headphones was scary, but I had always heard that open-back headphones were more suited for that task. Being that I had a new baby, most options were out of my budget until I ran across these. Now, I have used a pair of HR824s for over 20 years, and I have recently bought a pair of MR824s, so I am familiar with the Mackie sound. I have to say after a "break-in" period and creating a custom EQ curve in Fab-Filter ProQ 3 (they tend to be lacking some low end and can be very bright in the high end like the MR range), I have been getting some really great mixes. Long-time clients have noticed a difference in my mixes and have been giving me some very positive feedback.
