zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Harness the tone of vintage "Plexi" amps with the Animal overdrive pedal. Flip the "snarl" switch to go from a stock-sounding tone to a modded-out beast.

The Animal is Rockett Pedals way of creating a 1968 "Plexi" Sound. The Animal is an extremely open and amp-like sound that can get you from a stock "Plexi" to a modified "Plexi" with the flick of the snarl switch. The Animal can get very aggressive but it is by no means a distortion pedal. Just think of a cranked "Plexi" and how open and natural it sounds. Start with all knobs at the 12:00 o'clock position and then experiment from there. By backing off the gain and putting the "snarl" switch down you can achieve a very good blues tone. Experiment with the volume as this pedal can get loud!

Features:

- The bass and treble controls are both very subtle but also useable throughout their entire sweep.
- The "snarl" switch, when in the down position, is for the stock "Plexi" mode and with the switch up puts it in the "Modded Plexi" mode.

I have one of the original Animal pedals from Rockett. Back then this pedal cost almost double what it cost now, and it was a deal back then. You will not be disappointed with the sound you get from this pedal. It goes from "Plexi" to a "JCM800" sound with the flip of a switch!!!
