1st review on the Gibson Hummingbird Guitar, not reviewing the great customer service always provided from zZounds.. When the plan was to get a Gibson Acoustic guitar around the $3,000.00 price range the Gibson Hummingbird Studio appeared to be the one to buy. I know it did not have nice additions as a bound neck or completely Gloss finish. Top was Gloss. When I received and grabbed the neck removing from the case was surprised by the feel. Also, the set up. The Strings were ¼” off the 12th fret. Perfect for slide not normal playing. The neck feels as if the rough bare wood neck was just stained. An Orange peel is about as close to describing the finish and feel as I can. It states the finish is Satin but the under base wood was not even sanded semi smooth. The back and side of the body were a smooth Satin, what I expected. The fret board appears to be the same wood as the whole neck You can barely see the difference between the fret board and the neck. Feels Just Cheap, not a $2800.00 guitar. The fret board does not have any transition or some rounding of the edge. Just a sharp edge. The Frets are what you find on a cheap guitar, thin and not finished. Again, I bought what is considered an inexpensive version of a Gibson Hummingbird, but this is just sad. I have been playing and buying Gibson guitars since the mid 60’s, this must be the worst. After tuning I just did not see myself putting any play time on this Gibson. I put back in the case, packed back up in the shipping read more boxes and initiated a Return. I hate returning guitars, but this one is one that should not be one to buy. I should have spent an additional $500.00 and got something of better quality from Gibson hoping this one is not normal and one just made poorly. Do not recommend buying.

Sound
The tone seems to be a loud clear acoustic tone. I did not play very long, nor plugged in to hear the quality of the pickup, I planned on returning so did not want put any wear.
