This guitar will never leave my arsenal as it provides many fundamental sounds of modern guitar music prior to adding effects.
Sound
This Telecaster is as advertised the best of 60 years of development. From silky to twangy in the flip of the pickup selctor switch.
Features
The SBK hardshell case leaves something to be desires. As with all modern molded cases the aluminum edges will misalign and require a fair amount of “futzing” with to get the case to close. The case does not have 60 years of development and it shows.
Ease of Use
Plug and play!
Quality
The guitar can't be beat. The case would need to be replaced for road work it is too much trouble to close it unless it is on a perfectly flat surface and one carefully checks all four sides of the aluminum molding are mated prior to latching the case.
Value
The only thing that keeps this from being a 10 is the case. The guitar is worth the price it should have a case that is a complement.
Manufacturer Support
I own six Fender guitars and three Fender amps (one since 1968); I've never had a problem with any of them. For things like schematics and wiring diagrams Fender's support can not be beat. I wish more companies were as open about their products as Fender.
The Wow Factor
I wanted a good Ameircan built Telecaster. I don't buy products based on "sex appeal".
