"This is just an outstanding ROM for easily the best kits and perc out of all the EMU roms ive heard. Really adds allot of spice"
This lovely "Planet Earth Modual" will never be gettn replaced. Searched long and hard for it and am sooo happy with the kits and perc.
Sound
The sound out of the outstanding "EMU Planet Earth" modual is beutifuly crisp and clean and is packed with an awsome collection of fat emaculate samples, this modual's overall sound forshure blends perfectly in a mix. Responds really well to velocity and aftertouch when slammin the key's. I use an XP-30 keyboard for actuall playin. The huge amount of included perc yu should compliment almost any musical styl. The mighty mighty kits on this Rom are really the best selection of kits on any of the emu rom's. They are tight n punchy and you get loads to work with. I usually allway's proccess my Emu modual's with outboard gear. I don't use the internall effect's much but they are good to have on hand for some extra shaping. Should also mention that its best to go for a Turbo board(Proteus 2000)ect, I found the send and return jack's really usefull, and yu get an extra midi.
Features
Make shure you upgrade to the latest operating system! Emu website has it available on there website and its free. These boards features are simply awsome, loads of patching can be done, yu get 4 layer's to work with on every instrument and ofcourse there's the many incredable mind bending emu filters. Syncable lfo's and arp's, and you can do extensive editing with the arp100 included… read more user pattern's to play with!! And you can slave your other gear to these patterns!! You can ofcourse save all you multi setup's. Only down side is the "Planet Earth Modual" didn't come with the turbo board's installed so you were limited with these units. Didn't have the Sub 1 and 2 jack's, Digital out, 4 ROM expansion slot's, higher poly and the extra midi. Was best to stick the card in a Proteus 2000 ect. Anyway it was the best colored modual imo.
Ease of Use
I was making my own sounds within the first few day's, manual is really good. Pdf is on emu website.
Quality
The data wheel's on these modual's tend to get very messy. Be good to it.
Value
This unit is very sought after, no worries on its value.
Manufacturer Support
Have never dealt with EMU.
The Wow Factor
This imo, is the sexiest ROM of them all. Turqoise face plate also does the trick. And those dam kit's!! Very Practical addition to me setup and indeed sheer genius in the design.
Musical Background:
Hobbyist atm.
