12 in. speaker. 4-band EQ.

Looking for a bass combo to cover all of your practice, rehearsal and recording needs? One that will not only deliver awesome sound and incredible low-end punch, but also enough power to compete with a band? And - if you had your way - one that could also cut it on larger stages with additional speakers? No such thing, you say? Then check out the BX1200.

Behringer's largest Ultrabass combo combines raw power with an amazingly flexible 2-channel preamp section and an abundance of professional I/O options rarely found in bass combos, to give you everything you need in a bass combo and then some. Its oversized power supply, along with revolutionary, patent-pending Dynamizer circuitry and the carefully designed bass reflex enclosure, ensure that the short-circuit proof, virtually indestructible power amp with its 2-speed thermo-controlled fan will always deliver to its full capability without sacrificing punch or sound quality. The BX1200's preamp section starts with your choice of active or passive inputs, and goes on to offer incredible tone-shaping power, with separate gain controls for each channel and a 4-band EQ. Channel two features switchable and tunable Shape function, which ideally complements the EQ by giving you extra control over those dreaded "nasal" mid frequencies. Both channels also share a built-in Ultrabass function. Based on Behringer's celebrated psychoacoustics units, this subharmonics processor adds ultra-low frequencies to your sound and is tunable and switchable read more via a front-panel button or the included footswitch.

The BX1200 features a custom-made 12 in. aluminum cone speaker that reproduces your sound with incredible power, sensitivity, and warmth. Should you need extra clout for larger venues, you've got the option of connecting additional speakers and/or power amps. And speaking of connections, you'll also appreciate the stereo tape I/O, the insert facility for outboard effects or processors (preamp out/power amp in), and the tuner and headphone outputs. Not to mention the balanced DI out with XLR connector, perfect for recording or PA applications. Oh, and by the way: the BX1200's innovative wedge shape allows you to use it standing up or tipped back at a perfect floor monitor angle.

i will probably use this as my stage and recording amp unless i somehow aquire milliosn fo dollars, and can buy all sorts of neato gadgets, but i will always be a behringer believer.

Sound
This amp has a great range of sound, with teh shape knob on the second channel, you can twist the sound every which way. The ultrabass gets pretty farty and grumbly on the low E, but its sounds great on the higher strings. The best part is, you can crank all the volume knobs all the way up, and it doesnt break up or distort at all, btu if you want soem extra growl, just use the shape knob, and eq up the low and the mid-low. The direct out is really noisy though, maybe if it had a groudn lift it woudltn be so bad. but overall, its a great amp.

Features
nice little footswitch, for the two channels and the ultrabass. 4 band eq, TONS of I/O. pre-amp out, power amp in, RCA conectors for external sound source, Direct out, line out, headphone, tuner out, speaker out.

Quality
Solid as a rock, and it looks great, i took it apart and it even looks nice on the inside. i was lugging this thing aroudn one day, carryign it over my head, and i tripped and dropped it, from about 6 feet up. i was scared to hook it up again, but when i did, it still worked, and ive still been using it since.

Value
for 250 bucks, i ain't gonna argue. woudl i pay more for it? probbaly not, cause read more then i woudlnt be able ot afford it, lol. thats why i love behringer, quality stuff, low price.
