Professional quality, 4-channel, dual-stereo digital processor with the look and feel of high-end analog systems

A unique, one knob function interface makes the Alesis CLX-440 easy to use, but behind that easy-to-use interface is the quality and superb sound control and mastery you usually expect of more complicated processors. All the hallmarks of an Alesis product are there, based on Alesis' own patented semiconductor design. Exceptionally feature-full and extremely user friendly, while at the same time remarkably affordable.

Features

"Not as bad as people say."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I know this unit gets a bad wrap but I just havn't had the problems with it. Maybe the expansion was a little noisy when the gate shut but the compressor worked very well, and without any noise to speak of. I like it.
Features
Tons of features, only product I know in this price range that has seperate controlls for all aspects of compression and expansion.
Quality
Its cheap what can I say but I think it sounds good. Its not going last that long but for 120 bucks who cares.
Value
I think for the price and for people wanting a good compressor to get them started its not a bad option. There are a thousand better compressors out there but you'll pay alot more.
