I admit, I was skeptical at first. Read a ton of reviews, watched even more YouTube reviews and decided to pull the trigger. I’ve played a Tele for years but wanted something loaded with p90s. Played a ton of Gretsch, Gibson, Epiphone guitars recently and nothing spoke to me or felt good to play. These axes are selling like hotcakes and mine was back ordered for 3 months. When it arrived I looked over every inch…and WOW! Not one blemish or imperfection. Beautiful looking guitar (I got the blue) Sat down and strummed a chord unplugged and was blown away by how articulate and LOUD the guitar was without amplification. Totally unreal. I knew it was gonna sing. I played the guitar unplugged for a long time, and was stunned by how it responded. Neck felt great much like my Tele, but just a bit thicker. Love the stainless steel frets. Now for the tones. I’m so glad I went with the p90s. Everyone says they are the perfect middle ground between single coils and HB. The 5 way switch gives you a ton of usable tones and the focus switch does something magical. Pushes the mids and gives you the sound that a Les Paul might offer, but still retains the clarity even when doing dense chord work or at higher gain settings. The quality, craftsmanship, electronics etc. are equally as good as any high end Gibson or Strat out there. People don’t think about Yamaha for electric because they don’t have new models out a lot, and most folks go for the cliche brands. I’m super happy with this read more guitar. You won’t be disappointed either!
