11/10 star purchase of this guitar for Xmas 2025. My favorite thing about it is it lacks the wow factor. Most don’t know it’s a high end guitar they’re seeing as it looks like every other Yamaha of lesser value and construction to most degree. Great less likely to get stolen at a gig. When you hear it you know. All my band mates are full of genuine tone compliments. I bought this guitar with my brain not my d*ck. Solid mahogany back and sides. Ideal mids for strumming. Get the A5”R” if you the next Billy Strings. Full size and sound dreadnought. Electronics blew my band mates Taylor expression 2 electronics out the water. Yamaha plugged in is much warmer and fuller. Even love the elixer strings is strung with. Just strum America sister golden hair and she shines like a diamond. Second Japanese instrument I’ve owned and highly pleased. Im 3 weeks in and my respect keeps growing so much I’m thinking ab a Yamaha electric Japanese too. I’m set up to love for this guitar for lifetime and pass down a quality instrument. Competitor was the Taylor US made for $400 more, the highest end model with the 43mm nut available via zZounds. That Taylor had sepele back n sides and I love my mohogany which Taylor reserves for 3k plus guitars. Yamaha A5M Great value, great specs, great craftsmanship, big sound.
