In the spirit of forging pathways in tonal possibilities, Taylor is proud to introduce urban ironbark, or red ironbark, as the wood for the back and sides for the 552ce 12-String. Sourced through Taylor's urban wood initiative, urban ironbark is destined to become a favorite among guitar players.

Ironbark is dense, like ebony, and captures the sonic depth of rosewood accelerated to great heights. When paired with the torrefied Sitka Spruce top, you get a sound that is loud yet sweet with piano like fidelity and complexity.

12-string players will enjoy the clear shimmer of the comfortably compact 12-string 552ce. Taylor has further improved the 12-string experience with its double-compensated saddle for superior intonation and optimal string height at the saddle. Taylor's double-mounting bridge pins allow each string to have a consistent break angle over the saddle for consistent string dynamics.
