Squier Contemporary Active Starcaster Electric Guitar, Maple Fingerboard

No longer available at zZounds
Despite its vintage look, this Starcaster was made to be played hard. The sealed semi-hollow body features dual SQR active humbuckers for high-octane sounds.

The Starcaster broke the mold of semi-hollow guitar design with its offset body shape when it was introduced in the '70s, offering versatile sounds and out-of-this-world styling for the most adventurous players. The Squier Contemporary Active Starcaster is an evolution of the original Fender model, engineered with a sealed semi-hollow body for minimized feedback and powered by dual Squier SQR active ceramic humbucking pickups for high-output tone. Player-friendly features include a slim, comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile with a fast-playing 12"-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, as well as a stop tailpiece for solid tuning stability. This Squier model also features a matching painted headstock contour, black chrome-plated hardware and a smooth satin neck finish for a natural feel.

I was looking for something different. Something semi hollow which is a first for me. I came across this gorgeous guitar and I couldn't stop coming back to it. Then throw in active pickups too??? This guitar checks off a lot of boxes for me but the one that surprised me was the fact that this guitar can actually shred with extreme metal tones as well. Did I buy it for that? Nope! I bought this beauty for 70s style rock and roll, blues and jazz but this guitar is not limited in potential at all! I have metal inspired guitars and thats basically all I've ever owned so it was time to change it up. I've had this guitar for about 2 weeks now and it has been reshaping the way I play and the way I think about playing. I even have a picture set as my background on my phone and everytime I'm at work and grab my phone I just want to go home and jam hahaha. I brought it to work one day and jaws were dropping left and right!

Rock and Metal

Mostly metal but I've been getting back to my 70s rock roots
