I've owned several SE models and own an S2 standard 24. Of the SE models: a custom 24, a Starla, a 277 and a custom 22, a 594, even one of the korina singlecut models. Whatever Cort is doing, they need to keep doing it. I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic right next to me and this Mccarty holds it's own right next to it. The neck is ever so slightly chunkier than the 60's slim taper, but nowhere near the ballpark of a 50's baseball bat( I love those too). The fit and finish are flawless and this thing feels better than any of the epiphone stuff in it's range. This axe won't kill your bank account with 12 payments and you have something spectacular to play. Let's talk about the understandable issues: A few frets are sharp and a slight edge on the nut needs a smidge of filing. Two of the nut sluts are binding behind the nut. A few slides of a file and problem solved. The tuners are.....well...they work and the buttons look cheap. New tuners are about to be installed with some green vintage buttons. All of these things are to be expected to some degree with all new guitars so I won't let that affect the 5 stars this guitar is going to get. The electronics and pickups put you right in that sweet spot of low output humbuckers. They SCREAM with high gain. Don't worry about that. The inlays and the fretboard are fantastic. So many manufacturers have switched to Laurel of some other variant in lieu of rosewood. Not PRS!! Mind you, this is built by Cort in Indonesia but PRS keeps very tight read more communication and involvement in the production. Cort built a seperate facility just for the SE line. Watch the youtube videos. Great job PRS and Cort on making a keeper!!!

Sound
These pickups SING!!!! Low output pickups do something special that high output pickups do not. There's almost a glassy vibe, not strat like, but it's own thing. These pickups sound like vintage Alnico 2's all day long.

Features
Finally, a double cut that feels more like a LP than an SG all day long. The taps work well especially in the mid position.

Ease of Use
110% playable to the point of sheer inspiration! No learning curve compared to any LP or SG.
