Discover a variety of sweet and sultry tones with the S2 Studio. This design features a pair of Type-D single coils and a Starla humbucker to nail any sound.

What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
PRS Starla humbucking pickup Smooth, complex tone with even response.
PRS Type-D single-coil pickup Low-output design for uncompromised dynamic feel.
PRS tremolo Resonant, stable and smooth vibrato
Mahogany body Rich, warm, focused sound; added sustain

The PRS S2 Studio takes the Standard 22 platform into new sonic territory with a single/single/hum pickup configuration and updated switching system. This versatile setup allows for a whole new scope of sounds that are only possible with a three pickup guitar, whether you're looking for punchy single coils, vintage scooped tones, or the chunky kick of a bridge humbucker (that can still be split to single coils via the push/pull tone knob for a three single coil set up). With eight combinations in all, the S2 Studio covers classic tones but maintains a unique voice making it a perfect "desert island" guitar.

This is an absolute gem of a guitar. This is THE guitar that I can honestly say I will never ever sell or trade. It's a life keeper. So many fantastic sounds and possibilities. It's really hard to find a bad sound out of all the pickup combinations. You can get Tele twang and strat sting. You can play just about any style of music on this guitar. If you can only have one and don't want to sell your car this is the guitar to get. First pattern neck profile I've owned and it fits really well in my hands. Quality is always top notch with PRS guitars and this is no exception. You can really feel the difference if you just put your Fender/Gibson biases aside. No marketing is required to convince you that this guitar is versatile. Once you play it you will see that it just is.
