This is in most respects a PRS SE Custom 24 with all the excellent features that go with that. The build and finish quality is fantastic, especially at a sub- $1000 price point. The laurel burl veneer over the maple top is unique and beautiful The 85/15 "S" pickups (the Korean made version of PRS' flagship pickups) are hotter than a 'stock' PAF, but not overly so and will cover a great deal of sonic territory, especially with the coil split feature factored in. The 3-piece maple neck, despite being called "Wide-Thin" is neither too wide nor too thin. It's probably closest to a Fender "Modern C" shape. As a player's instrument I'd say this gives you rather Les Paul-ish sonics but with the playability more in line with a Strat, which for me is the best of both worlds. Also worth noting is the tremolo bridge- not only does it hold tuning very well despite being non- locking, it's easily the most comfortable trem under the hand that I've ever played. It's the quality you'd expect of PRS, and you have to donate blood every month to afford it.

Sound
The 85/15 "S" pickups are on the moderately hot side, without being uncontrollably so. Think Duncan JB rather than Duncan Invader. They are slightly dark, but that's not unusual for a higher output passive humbucker. Worth noting is the coil splitting feature- PRS has clearly put a lot of work into making this work without the huge drop on volume that coil splitting usually causes. The single split on the read more neck position sounds particularly lovely and strat-ish.

Features
The bridge is a less expensive version of the PRS tremolo. Money is saved by it being molded rather than forged metal, and by not using brass in the saddles or tone block. Nonetheless, it performs admirably. Factory setup comes with it floating approx 1/8" from the body. There tuners work smoothly and hold well, though I'm replacing them with PRS locking tuners (mostly for quicker string changes. And kicks.)Fretwire seems to be Medium-Jumbo (think Gibson.)

Ease of Use
Anyone with a decent amp can get great sounds from this easily. I'm using a Marshall DSL20CR and a pile of pedals and it can cover anything from country to thrash metal with just a bit of knob-twiddling. A definite Swiss Army Knife of guitars.

Quality
Fit and finish are excellent. The fretwork is very well executed (I own about a dozen guitars, and the only one I have that perhaps exceeds it is a $3300 Taylor acoustic.) The binding on the body, neck, and headstock is flawless. The back of the neck is glossy,c which might bother some, though I don't find it to be especially sticky.

Value
At $900 its not there cheapest guitar, but certainly provides excellent value at it's price. You're paying a slight bit extra for the fact it's a limited edition with a few extra dress-up features (exotic wood veneer top, neck and headstock binding. ) if those features aren't important to you, you can save a few hundred by buying the regular SE Custom 24 and get the same experience.

Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with PRS apart from ordering upgraded tuners. Their reputation is good.

The Wow Factor
It looks great. It plays great. It sounds great. It is great.
