I have been playing bass since 1979, and my first bass was a 1968'Gibson EB3L , and I had a cheap acoustic before , but a Martin Guitar is beautiful and a Great sounding instrument that is nothing else I ever played, put it away for the day and it will still be in tune ! As far as the E1 electronics go the built in tuner is great ,
