What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Basswood body Big, warm midrange tones
Maple neck Bright tone, full sustain and strength
Jumbo frets Makes bending strings easier
Floyd Rose Special tremolo Smooth and stable whammy work

Built for speed and loaded with purebred Jackson DNA, Jackson’s X Series Soloist SLX models also come with a budget-friendly price tag.

Taking style to molten heights, the finishes feature green or orange magma running through the Black finish. The volcanic SLX Crackle also features a basswood body paired with a through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement and tilt-back scarf joint headstock. Hosting 24 jumbo frets and pearloid sharkfin inlays, its 12"-16" bound compound radius laurel fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out.

Duncan Designed Alnico HB-103N (neck) and high-output ceramic HB-103B (bridge) humbucking pickups power this metal beast, which also includes single volume and tone controls, three-way blade switching and a Floyd Rose Special double-locking two-point tremolo bridge system for superior string stability, improved sustain and dynamic tremolo action.

Ready to erupt, the SLX Crackle models are finished off with Jackson sealed die-cast tuners, black hardware and a pointed 6-in-line headstock.

Dude, this guitar is just straight-up GREAT for those looking for that late 80's/early 90's metal look and feel! You will hear a lot about the Floyd Rose "Special" and how it should be replaced. This is surely a great upgrade, but you can save some money initially by just upgrading the saddle blocks with titanium or naval brass ones from FU-tone.com. You can also upgrade the springs and tremolo arm, etc. Easy upgrades that add strength to the Floyd Rose Special. I may also upgrade the locking nut at some point. Guitar was MINT out of the box and played well. A few minor tweaks made it scream. If you grew up seeing Jackson/Charvel crackle models in the music videos, this is a great guitar for you, even if you're a beginner or intermediate...... this will allow you to learn how to tune a floating tremolo through repetition and ultimately KEEP it in tune. Also, don't forget.... each one of these guitars is unique regarding the crackle paint..... no two guitars are the same due to the way they use compressed air to create the crackle pattern. Your guitar will be UNIQUE and unlike any other! Neck-thru, decent but easily-upgraded hardware, great FAST playing neck, and a unique paintjob. GREAT VALUE. Score it!
