Overview

The Guild Starfire Deluxe Bass is a reissue of the Starfire Bass II, one of Guild's most iconic semi-hollow body instruments. Part of the Newark St. Collection of vintage-inspired guitars and basses, the Starfire Deluxe Bass faithfully honors Guild's '60s-era legacy of exceptional quality and vibe while also adding contemporary touches that make it more relevant to today's players -- at a price working bassists will appreciate.

Guild semi-hollow body basses were popularized in the 1960s by rock players such as Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane's Jack Casady, who both crafted full and rich tones with exceptional articulation, aided by the instruments' BS-1 BiSonic single-coil pickups. The Starfire Deluxe Bass features two BS-1 BiSonic pickups with individual Volume and Tone controls and a Master Volume control that lets you adjust the overall volume without affecting the settings for the individual pickups.

The Starfire Deluxe Bass boasts an arched maple top and back, maple sides, and a comfortable Vintage Soft U Shape mahogany set neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The instrument's medium 30.75" scale length makes it especially appealing to players with smaller hands. Aesthetic appointments include ivory body, F-hole, and fingerboard binding; Guild Peak logo and Chesterfield headstock inlays; and block fingerboard inlays.
