Overview
The dreadnought-sized Guild D-40E Standard acoustic guitar is meticulously crafted in the USA. The D-40E Standard includes an integrated L.R. Baggs Element VTC active pickup system with Volume and Tone controls.
The original D-40 model was introduced in 1963 and quickly became a favorite of folk players, including iconic singer-songwriter Richie Havens, who famously played a D-40 while opening Woodstock in 1969. The guitar's solid African mahogany back and sides provide warmth and harmonic richness, while its solid Sitka spruce top adds brightness and a lively response, resulting in a powerful, well-balanced sound. The comfortable C-Shape neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard also make the guitar easy to play.
A Vintage Gloss nitro finish that highlights the natural beauty of the woods, complemented by a tortoiseshell pickguard, pearloid rosette, Guild Peak headstock inlay, and Deluxe Vintage tuners with cream buttons, gives the D-40 Standard a timeless look. A deluxe hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity are included.
