The Gibson ELEV8 Underwound is designed as a neck position pickup that pairs perfectly with the standard ELEV8 at the bridge for a vintage/modern combination.

Gibson ELEV8 pickups deliver powerful, focused tones with an intensity that doesn't sacrifice articulation, clarity, and dynamic control. The pairing of Alnico 8 magnets with custom-gauge wire allows for a wide variety of tones with a tighter low end that is ideal for high-gain and modern styles.

Gibson invented the original humbucking Patent Applied For pickup in 1955. Over the years, Gibson has utilized Alnico 2, 3, 4, and 5 magnets in pickup construction, each grade with its own tonal characteristics. For the ELEV8 pickups, Gibson utilizes powerful Alnico 8 magnets harnessed within coils of custom-gauge wire to set the stage for a series of pickups that modern players will use to shape and define the Gibson tones of the future.
