The legacy of Gibson's "King of the Flat-Tops" lives on in the SJ-200 60s Original. Since its inaugural appearance in 1937, the Gibson SJ-200 has set an unmatched standard in acoustic guitar design. The SJ-200 60s Original continues that legacy, honoring one of the world's most famous and celebrated acoustic guitars.
This model replicates the SJ-200 as it appeared in the 1960s, a time when the guitar could be found in the hands of such iconic players as Pete Townshend, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Jimmy Page. The SJ-200 was a defining part of the sound of some of the most legendary songs and albums ever recorded.

The SJ-200 60s Original features a AAA figured maple body with a checkerboard marquetry strip down the center of the back, paired with a solid AAA Sitka spruce top. It is presented in distinctive 60s-style nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. The two-piece maple neck includes a walnut stringer, a comfortable Round profile, and a narrower 1.687" nut width, true to the SJ-200s of the era, making first-position chords easier to play.
The rosewood… read more fretboard is decorated with classic mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays, one of the signature visual hallmarks of the SJ-200, and is fitted with 20 standard frets. The no-border SJ-200 pickguard features its instantly recognizable, iconic graphics, while the solid rosewood Moustache bridge is embellished with mother-of-pearl hourglass and teardrop inlays. In a nod to modern players, the SJ-200 60s Original uses a bone saddle instead of a Tune-O-Matic bridge.
Additional vintage-inspired appointments include a bone nut, TUSQ bridge pins, and gold Grover Rotomatic tuners for reliable tuning stability. For today's stage and studio demands, the SJ-200 60s Original also comes equipped with an internal L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system, with discreetly mounted soundhole volume and tone controls.
