I ordered this standard from zZounds a few days ago and just received it yesterday. I have 5 LP's, some studio's and studio deluxe's, this is my 3 standard that I've owned and I'm basically a tele player and play a lot of country and southern rock. I had to sell my previous standards due to buying a new home, so I was bummed to say the least. However, a month ago I was looking to buy a standard and I found that zZounds had the flame and finish that I wanted. I didn't really want the amber or blueberry burst. When I received this guitar, I was ecstatic. Zero Flaws. There was no fretboard separation around the nut, there was no flaws to the finish. It came with out the pickguard installed which was freakin awesome. I'm not covering up this finish. I yanked the strings off and applied some Dr Ducks axe wax to the rosewood neck because it looked a little dry, no big deal, right. I installed my strings and stretched them out and started to play this thing. First off, the intonation was dead nuts on, the action was perfect for me and the options with the dip switch and split coil had me in a euphoria. I was skeptical about the QC issues that Gibson has had in the past, however, My guitar was simply amazing. I felt much better about the 3 grand after tax. Congrats to Gibson for giving us players that have to play so many different styles these days, options to where we don't have to take 6 guitars to a gig. I would have hot rodded the guitar anyways and spend 500.00+ bucks doing it, read more so Gibson simply listened and gave us players what we wanted and its just amazing. Thank You Gibson and zZounds for the guitar. When its not in my hands, I'm dreaming about it. My other LP's have burst buckers and 57s and 58s. This guitar has Burst Bucker Pro pickups which have 6 alnico magnets instead of the 2 alnico magnets in regular Burst Bucker pickups. You definitely can tell the difference. I had no experience with the Burst Bucker Pros before this beauty, however, I'm sold. I love the response. I think this is a turning point for Gibson. If your hesitant like I was, Don't be. Pick out the one you want and enjoy it. You only live once and music never dies.
