Overview
The Les Paul Custom was first introduced in 1953 as an upscale version of the Les Paul model. The model was requested by Les Paul himself, who wanted a black version of the Les Paul guitar that "looked like a tuxedo." In 1961, the single cutaway Les Paul Custom was discontinued in favor of a double-cutaway model that would later become known as the SG Custom, and the original single cutaway model was reintroduced in 1968. During the 1970s, production of the Les Paul Custom transitioned from Kalamazoo to Nashville, and the Les Paul Custom received various changes that further refined the model, including a multi-piece maple top that replaced the original all-mahogany-body construction along with a maple neck.

The Les Paul custom i recieved was in imaculate condition . No fine microscatches in the ebony finish (if you own a nitro finish in ebony you know what i mean ) The set up was perfect out of the box the 70s inspired neck is its own thing not like my standards or classics .it is thinner at the nut and rounds out and thickens toward the twelve fret. The T Type pick ups are like a 57 classic with more teeth ,a underwound alnico 5 ...clarity but will bite ...dynamic u can ride the volume pot if you have a single chanel amp and get clean to nasty . 5 ply body binding instead of the 7 ply found on the custom shop version . I dont care about that. The binding on this looks great.and the ebony fret board is buttery and fast Classic split diamond on the head stock ...coolest head stock ever. So far i love it and Bill over at zZounds made the buying expierience excellent . We all go through the honey moon phase with a new guitar at first but i have had it for over a month now and own several les pauls so i am objective about this stuff . This one is worth the price no doubt they are gonna sell a bunch of these . zZounds made it easy to get my hands on this iconic guitar Thanks again to Bill over at zZounds
