I consider myself fortunate to have been able to acquire this guitar. I was interested in this model for several reasons: the colour, the quality of the components, the fact that these are the last 339s to be produced in the Memphis factory, and the incredible price for a quality guitar complete with a hardshell case. There is nothing 'studio' about this instrument as far as I'm concerned. All components are equal or better than what's provided with the more expensive 339s on a direct comparison. My particular guitar's neck and body have a very pleasing wood grain. The stain and nitrocellulose finish captures the detail of the wood in a way that the photos cannot show. I also have an Epiphone ES-339 P90 Pro in pelham blue. The tonal differences between the instruments when played unplugged is quite noticeable. I'm not sure if it's the quality of wood and/or the nitrocellulose (Gibson) vs. polyurethane (Epiphone) finish, but the Gibson's acoustic tone is richer. zZounds was a pleasure to deal with. I am Canadian and could not source this guitar in Canada. zZounds helped answer my shipping questions and made it easy to purchase this guitar. It came set up from the factory according to specification and has been very playable right out of the box. All in all, if you want to own a genuine Gibson Memphis-made guitar at an incredible price, jump on this one while they are available!
