I read a number of reviews that said a 2020 Epiphone Firebird would NOT fit in this Gibson Firebird case. I kept my 2020 Epiphone Firebird in a fitted Epiphone case but decided to buy this Gibson Firebird case to upgrade for better protection.I unboxed the case, opened it up and placed my stock 2020 Epiphone Firebird in the case and it fit like a glove. It fit just like my Gibson Firebird does. I've had older Epiphone Firebirds that were built a little different and can see they might not work but the newer 2020 Epiphone Neck Through Firebirds fit like a glove.I checked the overall fit of the guitar and it fits perfect!!! Old Gibson Firebirds had headstock/case issues with the Kluson banjo tuners that caused a lot headstock breaks and it loos like this case fixed that problem so if I had an old Firebird with banjo tuners I would upgrade to this case. This Gibson Firebird case has the body angled up so the headstock sits higher off of the bottom of the case. It is also much taller which allows the headstock ample clearance from the bottom and top of the case when it's shut so the headstock is well protected from breaks, even 1963-65 Gibson Firebirds.I have no idea why people are posting that the Epiphone Firebird would not fit but my 2020 Epiphone Firebird fits like a glove, the case is lighter and better built that my factory Epiphone Firebird case and when it is shut in the case there is no problem closing and latching it.
